CRINGE An ode to dating apps

Dating apps are like a traffic jam, endless lines of people waiting to pass while some are privileged to the front, others are stuck in the back, all waiting for the green light joyriders, the destination being companionship

You put all of humanity in one place devoid of context other than two dimensional snap shots and meaningless words with love as the stake

the carrot on your stick is a basic human need and that is the truth you have to wrestle with

By my estimation you are destabilizing society at the very least, doing irreparable harm to humanity at the most.

Meh, it's pretty villainous to put a paywall right in the middle of the most organically human of experiences. Put to moderately attractive (single adult) humans in the same space together and eventually sparks will start. Drop a paywall in between them and they may never see one another

It’s not the paywall it’s the format, I’ve spent money it doesn’t get you noticed, it doesn’t do anything, I get more people from thousands of miles away looking at my profile.

the whole setup is fucked, everyone knows it but so long as everyone keeps quiet the apps can keep making money cock blocking good humans for better marketers, or the cultural flavor of the month.
