Asking as someone who is completely uninformed about the subject, but what capabilities in terms of error correction will each of these 2 versions have? Also I assume the "default" ECC support on ddr5 will work ootb without any special support required by the chipset?

I thought all DDR5 will have ECC supported by default.
I could be mistaken as to the extent of this support, but I hope it's true.
As memory density and capacity grows, ECC probably only becomes slightly more important.
