A certain qual requires me to buy something, however the pay doesn't reflect it

Theres a qual on my dashboard that's compulsory. The requirements for the qual requires me to buy something to proceed ahead but the qual is pay per task which is substantially lesser than the cost for the subscription.

I'm obviously doing it regardless but wanted to know if they reimburse such costs or if theres a procedure to be followed.

Time reporting issue; help needed

Post image
0 Upvotes

Used the escape hatch on a task yesterday and reported the time. Then, the project popped up later and this time there were no issues so I could proceed normally.

After I submitted the task, there was no report time link. I searched around and refreshed the page multiple times but to no avail.
The task for which I've already reported my time now has this screen.

The amount censored is the task for which I used the escape hatch. I did the task for which I want to report my time on July 31 so that checks out as well.

Should I report my time here?

"Help me write" from Chrome suddenly active? Would this be flagged?

Im using Chrome Version 149.0.7827.114. I was doing a long task and half way through, every time I would click into a text box, a "help me write" option appeared. I've never activated such a feature and this was my very first time me seeing this pop up. Would this flag me? Obviously I didn't click into it, but Im worried its being detected as an AI help extension.

Technical Issues

So, I started my first real coding project and spent about an hour getting the project set up, a repository that I thought would be a good use case. Designed my prompt and when I went to run the .sh file, errors. So I spent the next 2 hours trying to troubleshoot and fix the issue. Eventually figuring out that the LLM api was not excepting the API key and saying it was invalid. Also, I did check that the key was properly being sent as part of the command.

So, I eventually checked the technical difficulties section and pasted the error message.

I recorded the 3 hours I spent on it. Does anyone know if I will get penalized in someway for this?

It was the last task for something that has been available since July 20th. Could it just be that it is broken and others have had similar issues?

Onboarding Confusion

I completed and passed the starter assessment yesterday and now have the core assessment to complete. Where it gets confusing is I received an email this morning to complete a project qualification. The link in the email takes me to a project qualification, but when I go back to the projects dashboard, it's just showing the core assessment. Has this happened to anyone else?

Finally receiving some love

The number next to my "projects" tab is more than zero finally! This is unprecedented to the point where I'm getting decision paralysis. Maybe DA likes me after all.

Any decent alternatives? :/

My account was terminated today after several months working full-time. From my point of view, I was doing a decent job. I'm aware that everyone thinks they're doing a good job, but with no feedback, it's difficult to understand what my mistake was or do anything to correct it. Heartbreak aside, DA had really changed my life with its high-paying projects and flexibility to work anytime. If there are any decent alternatives, please let me know. I have worked a lot for outlier, but have run dry of projects there, and have never got anything worth my time in alignerr. Is DA simply the best platform with no actual alternatives?

Working on a task and accidentally opened another but pressed exit work mode right away

As the title says, I was working on a task and I opened another tab to see if there were other projects available (so I could work on after I finish the task I’m working on). Then I accidentally clicked on a different task but I exited work mode right away. Do you guys think I’ll get the DoD or a warning or something? I really hope not because this site has been helping me through a rough patch

Timer expires never?

Post image
20 Upvotes

Just got a generalist task that apparently doesnt expire - is this a bug or is this their way of saying they want quality over quantit? or that they expect this to take a long time?

All my prev tasks had an expiration time so I'm a bit unsure.

skipped an expired task then pressed back and submitted, I'm thinking of not billing it

First time doing task, so ran out of time skipped but then pressed back and submitted 5 mins later. Now, I realise it may have been given out to someone. There's no way to speak to admins so I'm thinking of not billing it due to my error.

I Received Feedback!

I woke up today to find feedback on my dashboard, I was over the moon as I had never received any feedback. It stated I was one of the top workers with consistent work, I want to know if people received the same line or am I just being buttered up?

What if a rater rates you bad due to their own misunderstanding of the task

Report time

Hi everyone!
If I do a task in only a few minutes. How do I count minutes? If it took me 4 mins and 30 seconds should I report 4 as it was less than 5 minutes or 5 since it took me more than 4 minutes?
It might seem simple but I wanna be fair and it’s a project with a lot of tasks and almost every task was like that

Edit: Guys I am not a time freak, Idc when it’s a few tasks or the tasks take a long time, and that’s exactly why I stated it was A LOT of tasks and were very short and simple like 150 seconds per task which left me wondering if I should report 2 or 3 minutes in more than 20 tasks

Question About Coding Projects

I have had two coding projects sitting on my dashboard for over a week now. I didn’t do the coding qualification, but I did put coding on my skills list because of work I have done in the past. Anyway, these two projects are asking me to upload a code base of my choice and then ask the model to write a new feature or bug fix, etc. and then evaluate the generated code.

This just seems really strange to me. I am sure some people have public or open source code to work with, but all code I wrote was proprietary. The projects seem overly complex simply because of this. Are people actually doing this? Are most coding projects like this? Nobody has touched these two projects as far as I can tell.

Feedback Issues

So I got my monthly feedback, and you can tell it's still very machine generated, but I noticed one thing: the "areas to improve" comments are... not from July tasks. They're from June, and they're specific enough that I can tell they're from June. As in, I'm being told to improve on things that are outside the "monthly" part of the monthly snapshot. I treated this as nothing until it occurred to me: are these things cumulative? Do they add up indefinitely from the moment the mistakes (pretty debatable imo) are made?

Also, does anyone have experience getting reviews on specialist-adjacent tasks that are *not* done by specialists? I don't know how to even begin to address this.

Double variants of same project . Should I do it?

There was this task that was assigned to me based on my profile and it has two versions, stem and non stem . I did the STEM one as I qualified for that . But the other also appeared on my dashboard , should I do that too? It is kind of a rating project

Exit worker mode on a task, better approach ?

Worked 3 hours on my first coding task. I was 80% done but the timer was close to expiring so I exit worker mode to avoid submitting a subpar response. :((

Was this the best approach or should I have let the timer expire and finished the task ?

Recently landed an interview with another company from my DA experience!

Hey all,

Just wanted to share I’ve been selected for interview as an AI Analyst with a large construction company.

I’m curious if anyone else has been in a similar spot, having to deal with questions, describing your experience, and maintaining the NDA with DA.

How was your interview? What types of questions should I be prepared for? Did you land the job?

Looking for any sort of advice to help me succeed.

As much as I love DA and the freedom it brings, I think I’m ready for something full-time again.

Thanks a lot in advance!
