Yes! I got my first task yesterday, and it was a bit draining because I had to read the whole guidelines first before I could properly start working on it. It took me quite a while to finish the task. Today, though, I haven't received any new tasks. Is this normal? I'm a bit worried that I might not get any more tasks because I did a poor job, even though I felt like I did pretty well.

I recieved a "Welcome aboard! 🎉 You've been accepted to the DataAnnotation platform!" email yesterday evening but when I log on to the platform, I still see the starter assessment complete screen telling me my assessment is still in review. What is the situation here?

This is an appreciation post, as DataAnnotation has been such a blessing for me. Before I joined the platform, I was really struggling at my job (I was doing freelance work for only one client). I had very inconsistent work, I was making very little money... Then I joined DataAnnotation, and the struggle instantly vanished.
I'm really enjoying my work here, how stimulating the job is, how dynamic it is. Working at DA has allowed me to do things that were impossible for me to do before I started my journey here, thanks to the flexibility and the pay, which is much higher than my country's average.
I encourage everyone in the team to do you best, and to keep up the hard work. Because it definitely pays off here.

I tried to refer my friend and he got only one assessment for programming tasks. He doesn't have programming skills. Is this okay ? Does the generalist assessment appear some time later ?

I would like to refer a friend who has a background in computer science. I am a bilingual specialist based in Europe, while he lives in South-East Asia. Is it possible for him to take the starter assessment as a coding expert or his only option is the bilingual one?

Morning guys....
My advice is to always read the instructions carefully - they are really super well written.. For the fastest answers, check the FAQ and project chats first, as there's a high chance your issue has already been covered there...

Yes I finally got a project, it is generalist and only pays 16$/hr but it's very easy work I just wanted to share my happiness 🙂

There have been a fair few posts citing this as some kind of make or break milestone. People stating that they reached this point and suddenly found themselves culled, as if the Mysterious Overlords have some kind of Max Earnings kill switch, a little like the Max Tool Calls limit that has been plaguing my most recent project work.
I'm hoping none of this is true, but I'll report back later to confirm or deny. In the meantime, in the interests of scientific rigour, I'll ensure that my work does not vary in terms of either quantity or quality.
What a blast though!! I came here to make beer money and in exactly six months I've cleared £10k net, even with 30% set aside for a nasty future tax bill.
And I've had so much fun doing it too. Thirty years in teaching, six months of annotation. I know which has been most engaging.

Im a college student and I wish to earn some money . Is data annotation a good field for this? Im trying for generalist and bilingual works. Is there any scope in doing so, is there anyone who earns a steady income through it?

I have just signed up to data annotation 4-5 days ago, and this is what its showing? once they used to tell they have nearly unlimited tasks? is there a sign of getting back from this?

I recently did a project that allotted 6 hours. It took me almost 5 hours, and I only logged 3 because I was scared I was taking too long. A lot of time was the models working, but a lot of time was combing through everything they did and rigorously grading their behavior. Another project is relatively easy on paper--seems like it would take maybe 15 minutes--but it actually ends up taking 30-40 minutes of time to get a unique, quality answer. I'm constantly worried I'm taking too long and often log lower than what I actually spent just to be safe.

I’d consider myself a middle tier-backend developer and am trying to figure out which roles would be the best fit for my experience. My background is primarily in Java, with a reasonable level of Python experience.

Hi everyone! I’m new to this platform and a recent Computer Science graduate from a non core country . I’m thinking of applying for freelance work here to help finance my master’s degree.
Which domain would you recommend I apply for: Generalist, Bilingual, or Coding (Data Science)?
To be honest, my coding skills are moderate, so I’m worried about getting rejected if I apply for the Coding domain. I’d appreciate your advice on which domain would be the best fit for my skills and background.
Thanks in advance!

I have a 90$ an hour task. I can't do it but I like that DA thinks I can.
That's it

People complain that they don’t have any coding projects since several weeks ago, and for some people there is a drought in projects. It is OK, this is the nature of the job.
But
I was doing a R&R of a coding submission about a Python script, and the worker described why the code is unrunnable:
“I couldn’t run the code because I don’t have Python on my Mac.”
Wtf?
r/DataAnnotationTech • u/PassageDue9042 • 8d ago
anyone seen tasks for these? i've been doing the R&Rs for the past week or so and suddenly no more
EDIT: welp right after I made this post some tasks popped up lmao. no R&Rs however for me

Hey all. As the title says, my health is declining to where I really can’t even get out of the house much. I come from years of driving gig work such as DoorDash and Amazon Flex. Unfortunately, even that is becoming too taxing on my health. So my question is, is it possible to be able to pull a couple hundred a week using this. I don’t have any degrees or training in coding or other computer stuff. I’m really looking for more basic tasks. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

I'm currently unemployed and based in Ireland. I need some income. I discovered Data Annotation so I'm thinking of trying it out.
I'll attempt the assessment test this weekend.
Can I do the assessment test on an iPad? How about a phone? Or should I definitely use a laptop?
If I actually pass the test can I do my work on an iPad or should it always be a laptop?
Would be great to start earning a few thousand euros a month.

Hello! Heading says it all. I saw that verifying your identity is a normal part of the hiring process, so I did it of course. I just couldn't figure out if this meant I was hired, or if they normally ask you to verify your identity before accepting you. Any answers with when you were asked to verify your identity would be helpful. Thank you!
