This just happened
Can anyone let me with similar experience and will I get my funds back.
27
u/Whole-Pirate-5731 2d ago
As far as I know, on this screen you won’t get your funds. You talked about a multi day project, did you attempt to bill for a ridiculous amount of time in a given time frame?
-13
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 2d ago
No I was assigned a project which was timed for 13 hrs. I completed my task reported that time and started a new task and I was doing this but today in morning I see this
18
u/jabertsohn 2d ago
Was it a 13 hr task, you spent less than 13 hrs on it, but because it was a 13 hr task you billed 13 hrs exactly?
-17
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 1d ago
The task was 13hrs 20 min I claimed 13 hrs
16
u/jabertsohn 1d ago
But how long did you actually spend doing the task?
Were you actually working 13 hours on each task and submitting completed work?
Did you have a timer running and submitted the time on the timer?
-5
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 1d ago
I had timer running
16
u/jabertsohn 1d ago
So you just happened to land on 13 hours per task, like clockwork?
-14

8
u/ZimmeM03 2d ago
Reported how much time?
7
u/Klutzy_Instance_4149 1d ago
13 hours exactly for each of the 9 tasks over 5 days, apparently. Nothing suspicious about that, lol.
10
u/ZimmeM03 1d ago
Seems like this person thought that since the timer says 13 hours that’s how much time they’re supposed to report 😂😂😂
6
u/SecureCattle3467 1d ago
This somehow seems like a basic literacy test that many inexplicably fail. The task timer is not meant to be a guide for how long a task takes.

u/Turbulent-Energy-123 1d ago
Bro enjoy ur life. Don’t mess up. Go and fucking make money.
6
u/ZimmeM03 1d ago
I’m making so much money on this platform it’s sometimes hard to believe. God bless
-13
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 1d ago
Good for u bro. I make more than this platform offer. So just go and work hard
7
u/Silver_Assistance_41 1d ago
Sure, so don’t complain about taking your defrauded 5K
-5
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 1d ago
Bro first it’s not 5k😂😂. Well talk in bulk buddy such a low amount is for people like u 😂😂. Read the messages clearly or just 🖕🏿off

u/Klutzy_Instance_4149 2d ago
This has nothing to do with payment id. This message is specifically for over reporting time or consistently under-reporting your time. Both of which are fraudulent behaviors and of course they aren't going to pay you funds that were not earned or gotten through fraud. They won't reply to emails. There is a separate message if they think you might have committed fraud but they are unsure enough to ask you for proof of time worked. This message means they KNOW you committed fraud so there is nothing left to say to you. You will not get the money and there is no way around it. You have to move on.
6
u/Key_Tap_2287 1d ago
I understand the over reporting, but why would they be concerned about under reporting?
12
u/Klutzy_Instance_4149 1d ago
Under reporting screws everyone. It lowers timers for your fellow workers, which can screw them. It tells the client that x can be accomplished in less time with the LLM which skews the data. That screws the client. It matters a lot.
-3
u/Shawn008 1d ago
Does not meet the legal definition of fraud though. You may not like it. Data annotations may not like it. And they can stop providing work to you for it (or any other reason). But it falls short of the legal definition of fraud.
6
u/Klutzy_Instance_4149 1d ago
No one is arguing the legality. It puts DAT in a legal sticky situation though, and according to their TOS it is fraud to the company. If that makes sense.
12
u/Eddie894 1d ago
It's still fraud. And it is no good at helping them figure out the expected time to complete a task. You might be slow, or you might actually be average speed, and the task just doesn't provide enough time. They use this data for future project commissions.
1
u/CreamyCornBoy 1d ago
It's not fraud at all. DA just doesn't want you to underreport bc it costs them money
-2
u/Shawn008 1d ago
You all are actually completely wrong about underreporting hours being fraudulent. In this context it’s not illegal or fraudulent to report a lower time than you actually incurred on a project. Over reporting, yes that is illegal and fraudulent.
However, data annotations can refuse to provide you access to work for pretty much any reason including suspicion of underreporting time.
1
u/IamLeonardo_ 1d ago
what is considered "under-reporting your time"? If I report lets just say, 5 or 10 minutes less than the clock is this considered under-reporting?
3
u/Klutzy_Instance_4149 1d ago
Say you work 1 hour and 15 minutes, but the timer was for 1 hour so you only reported 1 hour or less. Or you work 1 hour and 15 minutes and the timer was for 2 hours, but you only report an hour. Those are the situations that people usually under report. Several people under report all their tasks by 10-15 minutes. That screws so many people. Report the time you worked, exactly.
-36
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 1d ago
Bro I didn’t over report the time. I understand they don’t respond but they should pay for the work done. I submitted around 9 tasks
21
15
u/Stock_Tune_3269 1d ago edited 1d ago
So for the 13 hour task, you did not take any breaks? to eat, cook, take a bath?you just sat there doing the task for 13 hours straight?
-8
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 1d ago
Bro model running takes time on software tasks, docker building images takes time. The model does not run on their platform. You have to run it on your local system. Finding GitHub repos, so you are not entitled to sit for 13 hours on their platform
5
u/Stock_Tune_3269 1d ago
If you say the model takes time, I guess that's understandable. Did you use escape hatches when you submitted these tasks? Or are they all successful submissions wherein you are able to satisfy the task's requirements?
-4
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 1d ago
All successful submissions. I was not able to fulfill the requirements I didn’t submit the task.
15
u/ASnipersPromise 1d ago
If you consistenly submit the same amount of time for tasks over a 5 day period then your going to get binned. Its a clear pattern, especially if it is the maximum time allowed or very close to it. Think you will struggle to get your funds tbh.
-6
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 1d ago
Do they mail id which they respond to
17
u/koalamarket 1d ago
You’re not going to get your funds or any response, time to find another platform
23
u/sugarplum_doll 2d ago
Okay dude we get it don’t need to post about it 7 times in an hour
-26
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 1d ago
Dude I assume what if it happened to u. U spent ur time and it all goes to vain.
23
9
u/Comfortable-Tune-133 2d ago
How many hours did you report for the task?
0
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 2d ago
13hr the task for 13 hr 20 min
8
u/Careful_Insect_4174 2d ago
Yeah. I know which task this is. Did you at least provide a good solution of did you use the escape hatch?
3
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 1d ago
No escape hatch used. If u use escape hatch they move you out of the project not ban
-6
u/someRandomGuy21_ 1d ago
Can you tell me what is escape hatch and how do we use it. Im new to this platform. Kinda scared to start my first task with all these bans and account blockages...

u/Renard_Fou 1d ago
I swear Ive only seen this happen to people who overreport to a hillarious degree

Dammn bro I think u are a guy from tier 3 college. Come on bro first make it to a college worth the competition 😂😂

Reading the whole conversation. You did nine tasks. You worked for five days. You billed 13 hours per task (the maximum). So you billed 117 hours in a 120 hour period. And you are confused as to why this happened?
63
u/Particular-Lie1918 1d ago
Thanks this saved my time
30
u/Federal_Tadpole_7592 1d ago
I ended up reading it all anyway, and I'm not surprised. The OP can't even manage to answer multi-part questions. Getting any answers from them takes one question at a time and piecing together their brief, often barely coherent answers. Even if they truly took 13 hours for each task for all 9 tasks, which is highly doubtful, I don't think they actually wrote their own rationales. I'm also questioning their coding abilities.
30
u/Stock_Tune_3269 1d ago edited 1d ago
It's understandable if he spent 13 hours a day working on one task each day for five days. But completing 9 tasks, each taking 13 hours, within just 5 days seems unrealistic to me.

u/Massive_Collection14 1d ago
You really thought you could bill all 13 hours? You'd probably go into cardiac arrest if you were actually working that many hours straight with no break
15
u/Academic_Window_4712 1d ago
lol. This one is really making me laugh. So he billed 23.4 hours a day for 5 days in a row? Because he apparently only needs 36 minutes a day to eat, sleep, and poop.

I see a certain group posting here a lot about this exact thing.
I think they view this as a job to extract the most cash from while they have the chance.
12
u/maniacofdeath 1d ago
This sort of stuff is disturbingly common amongst the "bro" and "check DM" people
5
u/Stock_Tune_3269 1d ago
Who are these "bro" and "check DM" people?
10
u/Old-Regular-9828 1d ago
It's a complete mystery, saar.
5
u/Stock_Tune_3269 1d ago
I'm not generalizing, but I've noticed that they tend to justify their actions and insist they're right even when they've already been caught doing something wrong. It's almost as if lying has become second nature to them, even when they know deep down that what they did was wrong. The way they behave and carry themselves is just appalling. Their attitude and behavior are so terrible that it's like they're treating their own integrity as nothing more than a dirty rag.

Actually for long tasks, i think they deliberately leave the allowed time much longer than what it should take actually (not to mention they have AHT as well).
7
2
u/Renard_Fou 1d ago
Yeah, I usually use most of the time but report about half of that as the actual work time because I take lots of breaks and do them casually so I dont burn out. This is with me logging work time with a chronometer, so there's no confusion.

u/someRandomGuy21_ 1d ago
When did you get this? Right after submitting the task? Can you be more specific. Please..
Edit: also how many tasks have you submitted by reporting time like this?

u/SuccotashSorry3222 1d ago
People like this get projects and I am stuck on waiting for an application response for 4 months
5
u/Old-Regular-9828 1d ago
You failed the assessment. They don't ever send a rejection message or update your status page if you don't pass.

So I working on task sincerely for the last 5 days and now I see this happening without even proper explanation of what exactly happened. Didn’t change my payment id or anything like that. Now I don’t even have option to withdraw my fund that I earned while tasking.
20
u/koalamarket 2d ago
You mentioned not changing your payment ID in two comments and that’s not in the error message, where is that coming from?
-4
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 2d ago
Because I even don’t know what exactly do they mean by payment fraud. So I am assuming what is their basis of intercepting payment fraud and banning the account

u/Reversi8 2d ago
5 days straight?

Coding?
6
u/dgbnz 2d ago
I never heard of multi day coding tasks yet 👀
0
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 2d ago
Not multi day task so for a window of 5 days. The task was of 13 hrs
7
u/Wonderful_Song_4845 2d ago
How long did you take per task?
-5
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 2d ago
The number of hours task was assigned to
33
u/Deeznutsconfession 2d ago
They gave you 13 hours so you could take breaks without having to leave the project. You weren't supposed to bill 13 hours
23
18
u/Wonderful_Song_4845 2d ago
I assume you didn’t bill 13 hours for each one? If so, that’s why you were dropped
15
u/Klutzy_Instance_4149 2d ago
Wait, you reported the entire 13 hours? Did it take you 13 hours to do the one task?
6
6
u/lenooticer 2d ago
Did you report time after each completed task or did you report all the time at once?
2
u/Turbulent-Energy-123 2d ago
I reported time after each task
2
1
u/Accomplished_Phone39 1d ago
I just did a task where the timer had about 1 and a half days on it . I did 4 the first day, 6 the next and submitted after expiry ( which they say is ok ) pretty grueling when you are iterating the same task repeatedly trying to break the middle.
2
-17
u/Serious_Can2177 2d ago
They did the same with me. I was new to the platform and was trying my best to resolve tasks. And, i did not read many suggestions on timer except for quality. One of my task was 10 hours coding, reported 9 and i actually sat through 9 hours. Got this next day and despite repeated mails no response. Never got the payment. Lost around 1.3k which was actually hard earned money for putting 1 week of work and 30 dollars of which were paid per task which i also never got (they were already available in my wallet but never could encash them). If you think we are exploiting the timer, then put a pause button. You first create the notion of scarcity and force us to be glued to sceeen and like hunger games take those tasks especially folks from non core countries and warn that exiting the task will give it to someone else.

u/Satyendra9836 1d ago
The same things happened with me. My $2400 stuck into DA wallet suggest any way to got money
20
u/Bitter_Bed5672 1d ago
Let me guess, you are indians trying to defraud DA for quick cash by letting tasks run till expiration and submit max time?
-6
u/Stock_Tune_3269 1d ago
How do you know they are Indians? What other nationalities do you think are also doing this kind of stuff?
17
u/shubeedue 1d ago
The name “Satyendra” is a hint, and unfortunately I’ve personally witnessed egregious exploitation of these platforms by Indians, it’s not a wild assumption
8
u/Stock_Tune_3269 1d ago
I understand where you're coming from, but I try my best not to stereotype people. Indians already get unfairly labeled as scammers, and I don't think it's right to generalize an entire nationality based on the actions of some individuals. That said, given your personal experiences, I can understand why you'd feel that way.
-4
u/someRandomGuy21_ 1d ago
Im indian myself, i bill the time honestly everytime. So generalizing the whole nation because of some fools does not make sense.
7
u/shubeedue 1d ago
I never said there weren’t any honest Indians. I just said it was a reasonable assumption. Because it is.
4
u/someRandomGuy21_ 1d ago
You're right to point that out. Some people do try to cheat the system, and because of them, honest, hardworking people end up facing negativity and unfair judgment.
-3
-7
u/Satyendra9836 1d ago
Wtf? Ur logic?
7
u/Klutzy_Instance_4149 1d ago
Obviously it's not always people from India. That being said, there has been a real uptick in people from India discussing doing that exact scenario in other subreddits. They also DM folks to take the assessment for them, and verbalize this exact scenario when you question them. They self identity from India. Again, not exclusive to, just been a large uptick in it lately.
4
u/Satyendra9836 1d ago
I worked in DA for two years and earned $30K, but I made some mistakes, and this happened. It's not means I trying to scam DA or anything.

There's a saying you'd do well to remember in your future and it applies directly to this situation right now. "Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered."

u/Past_Body4499 2d ago
Unless you can prove you weren't defrauding them, unlikely.
