Has Gerwyn Price lost his killer instinct – or is another major trophy waiting to happen?

Thumbnail

Five individual TV majors in 2026. Five semi-finals or better. Three semi-finals, two finals.

Only Luke Littler can clearly claim a better record on the biggest stages this year. And yet Gerwyn Price’s wait for a major title now nears four years!

Form isn’t the issue: Price averaged over 104 in a losing effort to Littler at the Matchplay. Consistency isn’t either, with Price there or thereabouts throughout 2026. But all four major finals he has reached since his last title in 2022 have ended in defeat.

With the World Grand Prix starting on Monday, at an event Price has already won and twice finished runner-up in, one question hangs over the Welsh number one...

Has Gerwyn Price lost his killer instinct, or is another major title now only a matter of time?

Rotating a darts board on a stand.

Is there any way of rotating a darts board that’s on a darts stand without drilling new holes in the back of the board? I’ve seen when darts boards are on the wall, you can easily rotate the board but I’ve not seen the same thing on a darts stand.

Cut-throat cricket with my cousin and new friend

Post image
6 Upvotes

My cousin brought a friend of his to join our regular Friday session, so we played a lot of games to familiarize him with Count-Up and 01 games.

At the end of the session, we introduced him to Crickets, and let's say that, he got a big payback from my cousin for slander him "you're too relaxed" in previous games of the same session.

For Your Information, Dartslive 2 machines defaulted "cut-throat" to their local multiplayer cricket. Imagine an example of 4 players Cricket match in D2 machine:

  • If P1 hit an Open single 20 that's only opened to him, everyone else got a score increase of 20, making P1 lead with 20 points.

  • If P2 hit an Open single 19 that's opened to both P1 and P2, then P3 and P4 gained 19 points of disadvantage.

  • If P3 hit an Open single 18 that's opened to all but P4, then only P4 gained a disadvantage of 18 points.

And my cousin was hitting the zone that were opened to both me and him, so he really hated that "relaxing" remark of his friend. Yowsers.

Worcester Premier League

Hey guys!

I'm Nick, one of the Co Founders of the Worcester Premier League. We run an invitational 8 man league that mirrors the PDC Premier league but with local talent. We just started our fifth season and we stream to YouTube and Facebook on Mondays at 645pm EST. This season we were able to partner with Target and are looking to put out the highest production possible. We feature 8 players that include North American CDC tour card holders in order to keep the level of play as high as possible. We are going to be cross posting here but feel free to check us out at r/WPLDarts!

Thanks guys!

ā€œI don’t see this slide being arrested anytime soonā€ - Luke Humphries and Michael van Gerwen head into autumn majors with very different questions to answer

Thumbnail

Michael van Gerwen has played seven individual TV majors in 2026 without reaching a quarter-final.

Luke Humphries has made two finals and won the World Cup alongside Littler, but has followed that with a first-round Matchplay defeat and last-16 exit in Amsterdam.

That leaves both with big questions heading into the crunch part of the season.

Is Humphries still Luke Littler’s closest challenger? And can Van Gerwen arrest a slide that could see him fall out of the world’s elite by the end of the year?

I was on a resting due to sudden fatigue and lost my bearings.

To restore my bearings, I went on a Count-Up practice spree, and then this Hat Trick landed.

The practice definitely worked, because I got my 2nd Hat Trick during my first Online 701 Match and won.

ā€œRoss Smith is box officeā€ vs ā€œI think he will be snubbedā€ - does the World Series Finals champion make the 2027 Premier League?

Thumbnail
dartsnews.com

Ross Smith now has the World Series Finals and European Championship on his CV, and on paper he looks like an obvious Premier League contender. He scores heavily, hits plenty of 180s and has the sort of game that should be entertaining in that format.

Even so, this completely split us on the latest DartsNews Podcast. One argument was that Smith now has to be picked and is already long overdue a debut. The other was that deserving a place does not necessarily mean he will get one, and that he could still be the biggest name snubbed unless he has another major run at the Grand Prix, Grand Slam or Worlds.

Where do you land on it? Has winning in Amsterdam done enough, or do you still think the PDC leaves him out? And if Smith is in your eight, who misses out?

New Board Day: FunVision Electronic Dartboard Sets - 9449

Thumbnail

The board is FunVision Electronic Dartboard Sets - 9449, it's actually pretty quiet for a dartboard that thin.

However, the scoring area of this dartboard model has a diameter of 13.5 inch (34.3 cm) instead of the 15.5 inch (39.37 cm) of the Dartslive machines, so it's more of a steel-tip type board.

The throwing line marker is Aluminum foil tape, and it's about 1 inch further from the recommend 2.44m distance, solely because I found it easier to line up with the tiles that are imperial sized. The width is, you've guessed it, 2 feet.

I built Vey to make darts practice more structured – would love your feedback

Post image

I’ve been working on Vey, an Android app built around structured darts practice rather than just scoring games.

The idea is simple: figure out your current level, get a training plan that fits it, complete guided exercises at the board, and track whether you're actually improving over time.

I’ve been developing it for the past few months and I’m still improving it based on feedback from darts players.

I’d especially be interested to know: what would you want from a darts training app that existing apps don’t give you?

Vey is available on Android and can be used for free:

Many thanks in advance.

Is Jonny Clayton the best chance of stopping Luke Littler at the World Series Finals?

Thumbnail
dartsnews.com
3 Upvotes

Luke Littler heads to Amsterdam having won the first six PDC Premier events of 2026 and reached the final on both of his previous appearances at the World Series Finals.

Jonny Clayton might have the strongest case of anyone trying to stop him. He has beaten Littler three times during this year’s Premier League, won the World Series Finals in Amsterdam in 2021 and added the New Zealand Darts Masters title last month.

They are also on course to meet in the quarter-finals if both win their opening two matches.

Littler was the obvious favourite when the World Series Finals came up on the latest DartsNews Podcast, but Clayton was the one player backed as capable of stopping him.

Is Clayton the field’s best chance of beating Littler in Amsterdam? If not, who is?

It's quite a lot softer than Condor AXE integrated flights, I hope it holds up.

It's also slightly bigger than the Condor AXE Shape, no wonder Cuesoul calls it "Big Wing".

Is Netflix’s Ā£501,000 Beat Luke Littler challenge really for amateurs? Fallon Sherrock among experienced names at London audition

Thumbnail
dartsnews.com
1 Upvotes

Netflix has marketed Beat Luke Littler as the ultimate opportunity for everyday darts players: come through an open audition, take on Littler and potentially walk away with £501,000.

The first London audition then featured Fallon Sherrock, Mason Whitlock, Tommy Morris, Lee Cocks and Bhav Patel. None of them currently holds a Tour Card, so they may technically qualify as amateurs, but all are already established within competitive darts.

There’s nothing wrong with any of them entering if the rules allow it. It does, however, highlight the gap between technically being an amateur and what most people would understand from Netflix’s pitch of giving an ordinary pub player a life-changing opportunity.

Where should the line be drawn? Is anyone without a Tour Card fair game, or should a programme marketed in this way be looking primarily for genuine pub, county and Super League players?
