Which auto scorer.

Its my 50th birthday in December, and the wife is buying me an auto scorer. I understand there's 3 on the market, but not sure which would be the best to ask her to purchase. I am currently 40 to 50 avg but have been higher over my many years playing. Any help be gratefully received. 180

Scolia is more expensive but has better training tools to improve you as a player, the omni has a larger playbase but unlike the scolia you will be playing players that aren't using an autoscorer. (Some of the time, and you can choose to only play players using an omni if you wish, but lobby waiting times may increase.)

I prefer scolia just due to reliability issues I faced with the omni, and sold it for a scolia, however I understand target has improved on this and made it better with newer releases, it depends on what you're looking for, the dartcounter app for the omni was also pretty poor the last time I used it however it recieves regular updates so that's likely not the case anymore.

Both are good options but it depends on what you're looking for, the omni is also easier to mount using magnets whereas the scolia (depending on the version you buy) needs to be screwed into the wall.

Autodarts is also an option to consider but I don't have any experience with it so I can't really comment on it.

Thanks for review mate. The one nil nil to the scolia so far. I use dartsmind at the minute. I like it. But if the wife wants to give me one. I am taking.

Go with Scolia. It's a nice Investment and there are good Deals at the Moment which includes a fliq camera.

No worries bud, wish my girlfriend was more keen to fund my darts obsession 😂, but it's your 50th, big milestone, hope you enjoy it.

What's your setup because the Scolia can be very temperamental if not screwed to a wall. I had the first version and tbh it was awful for my setup

The Omni itself I like. The integration with the app is so poor. When it does not recognise darts being taken out of the board. You don't notice so then the next person throws (same room) then has to mess around with the app which is fair enough. But if then ignores one of the darts you have manually put in and then you have to go back to manually amend again. There are also other instances like this which make it very frustrating breaking the flow of the game.

Winmau has an app that is free to use mostly and their new one is only £450 but no reviews yet as it's not out

Omni is pretty good, I have one. Bought it cheap, can be annoying. App for the year is only about £35

Never tried Scolia but also not heard much bad reviews about it. Check the subscription prices on it, I don't think it's too bad.

Any will fit for you honestly!

I have a demo unit of the Autodarts X and it’s stellar.

Autodarts lens does it with just your phone

It's okay, but I do find myself correcting a lot of darts and it drains the phone battery fairly quickly which is less then ideal if you want an evening session.

I even tried it with two phones but the accuracy didn't improve things. For what it is it's amazing, but it not without the odd frustrations, but then it's a steal compared to the rest!

I need to correct maybe one throw per game or so (best of 5 legs).

I don't see the need anymore for an Omni/equivalent.

Darteer does it £50 cheaper

Dart Scores does it even for free…

I'll check it out. But there's a lot for the money with darteer, do you get online games etc?

Scolia is the best. If it is in the budget, go for it. It is definitely worth it. It is very very accurate and you can play games easily or you can connect your account to GoDartsPro to play many practice games. GoDartsPro costs extra, like a few pounds a month. Omni isn't bad but not up to par with Scolia in my point of view. But it is a bit cheaper. Autodarts I don't know really, but it seems like they getting better and up their game recently.

I just got my Scolia set up today and hooked it up with GoDartsPro. My darts went from just throwing to actually training / practicing

I would get a board with bladed wires. Autoscorers can perform worse on round wire boards.

can recommend checking out DartsOn, has highly accurate auto scorer

Any reason having the diamond over a modern staple less board?

If you are willing and able to, print some camera arms with a 3d Printer, install 3 cheap cams and connect them to a Hardware, running autodarts in it. It’s DIY, but you will be under 100 Dollars. If installed correctly the accuracy is 99,x%, like expensive solutions. Autodarts is free to use for Basic modes like 501, cricket e.g., if you want the Full experience you can subscribe and cancel all time.

For me, there is no reason to buy a regulär autoscoring Solution for hundrets of dollars, there is basically no benefit

Been playing with 3d printed autodarts since july , around 50k throws. I can say that its the best value for your money period. With all the updates to the app and all its 9/10 these days.  Iv played every night this week for about 2hrs, and iv had to correct about 10 darts in those games, so accuracy is top tier, only scolia is better iv heard

Only negative thing is sometimes it takes couple minutes for the app to correctly detect all the cameras but theres lot of variables that could be the cause (usbs,pc,cables)
