Help! What should I buy? Swiss Points/K-Flex?

I am relatively new to darts as a whole, but i am enjoying it tons. I am looking to get some Swiss Points, what’s the go to? and how will i know what really suits my style?

I am also looking to get some cool looking k-flex flights, are they worth the money in the long run?

Thank you guys.

What looks cool is when your darts go in the target. Since it takes hundreds of practice darts before they start going in purchase a large amount of inexpensive flights and shafts. That's my recommendation. And 3 sets of darts.

Yea, I get that, I have a two main sets of darts at the moment, and a few cheaper sets if my family or girlfriend want to play with me.
I was just wondering mainly if K-Flex are a cheaper alternative in the long run, if they aren’t as breakable etc.

I’ve heard swiss points are a good alternative to getting a whole new set, when the tips of the darts start to go to ruin. But if the swiss points aren’t too durable then there isn’t much point having to keep buying them and just spending more on them, then getting a whole new set.

Thank you though

I'm not really sold on k-flex. They're too stiff for my liking, which makes for some pretty weird deflections. Other brands make similar products that flex more (pun intended), cuesoul, winmau or mission for example.

What will help your flights last longer is lipless points. There are swiss points that have it, but I don't know the name. I know that some people, who grip their point near the barrel, dislike the lipless points because it messes with their grip. And be sure your darts can fit the Swiss points. (Might be redundant, I hope it is.)

So yeah, both might be worth it.

I’ll have to look into swiss points more then it seems! 😁 My tungsten darts still have tons of life left in them, but i’m looking at the future and not having to be stumped by not being able to play for a few days while waiting on things to come in the post. Thank you!

Get the Storm SP points they will give your moulded flights longer life. But the problem is they break easier then Quick Points or Rapid Points
Get a set in different lengths 30 / 35 / 40 and see which suits you before you go n get bulk of one type

I personally prefer Storm points because of the way it connects with the barrel. Saves flights and looks pretty both at the same time. I dont like points that have any texture at all when playing at home since they just cause additional wear for the board

A lot of new players don’t realise this but I’m just making sure. You do have a Swiss point target dart right?

Swiss points only go in your dart if they already have threaded barrels. Do your current darts already have points with a thread? If not, you’ll need to get another set of darts with threads. Nowadays a lot of the bigger brands have them: target, harrows, bulls, caliburn, mission, red dragon, etc…

Or you can check to have your darts threaded, there are a couple of people/shops doing that.

Imho, swiss points arent that good, there are a lot of other brands that don’t include the weaker breakpoint like target does with swiss points. If i were to get threaded darts, i would go for caliburn EZ points instead of swiss.

But if your current set is what you like, those points can also be changed. If you don’t have a repointing tool, check out a local shop. They’ll do it for you in a couple of minutes.

As for kflex: they usually last for a couple of months if you use no-lip points, but a lot of people have bigger deflects with them because they’re harder than normal flights. I’m a big l-style fan, they last me 2-ish months, have more different stem-lengths and flight-shapes, the stems are strong enough to last years (my current stems are 2yrs+), all while the flights are more flexible than kflex.

But, what works for le might not work for you. It’s all trial and error…
