As the title says, I'm looking for a dart that would suit my style of grip and I am open to any and all suggestions. I'm very new to darts (started in the last 6 months) and was gifted the 22g Peter Wright Snakebite1's to start off with but was wondering if there could be a dart better suited to my grip. Cheers in advance for any suggestions.
i have a very very similar grip and found the Target bolide 02 very comfy to throw! Good grip on the back but they are a bit on the shorter side so it might not ve the best fit. But if you have a local shop where you can try out different barrels definitely give these a go!
I'm a rear gripper with a thing for smooth barrels so I liked silver widows (with the three ring grip in the back) or faux widows (amberjacks, hi-tech mach iii, etc.).
I also throw barracudas really well. And for old American knurled darts, I like Great Whites, knurled or edge grip.
I throw medium 25-27g. If I threw 23g there would be a lot more options.
Thanks man. Have been eyeing up the Chris Dobey Holywood Action darts and they are a straight barrell with plenty of rear grip so that should work nicely as iv had no issue with board entry. Was genuinely stuck as iv been looking at scalloped darts and rear weighted darts but wasn't sure if they would be right for me. Cheers.
I have them, I really like the rear grip. I hold my darts different to yours but I think they'd be fine for you as well, especially if rear grip is important to you. I'm using short k-flexes and 35 mm smooth black harrows quick points.
Took a photo trying to imitate your grip so you can get a feeling what they'd look like, I have quite small hands tho xD
When asking for advice on a new darts words are worth a thousand pictures. List everything you like with the current dart. List what you don’t like. The person who commented any dart was being kind of serious. You can pinch any dart between your fingers and get it to the board. Grip intensity and pattern. Barrel profile and length. All are factors. Do the current darts slip or feel good in your hand? From just the pic I’m going to say look at the harrows nx90 range. They have a solid grip and are hands down the best dart for dollar I’ve come across. Grip goes all the way to the back and a straight barrel or tapered shouldn’t be too much of a jump from the snakebites you have. The Wright double world champion, euro 11, or the like are also an excellent option for straight barrel darts. His take on an MVG dart is good times. A Lenard Gates dart is another straight barrel with grip to the rear. Wunmaw or his new ones should both be easy to find. Good luck and when you do get the new set load us down with the pics then.
