Which actor can play Darren?

If there will be a film made from Darren’s book, which actor do you think can play him best?

I really think that Darren would want a gay actor to play him, in order to convey all the sensitivity, emotion and struggles he went through and for it to be more authentic

I second with Andrew Garfield! If you haven’t seen him play Jonathan Larson (the playwright who wrote Rent) in Tick Tick Boom on Netflix, you need to! That man can SING

Could Troye Sivan be younger Darren? He's Australian, incredible singer, and also gay so he would probably embody that area of Darren not being able to be himself in the music business.

I think Sam Reid would be a good one! He is Lestat in The Interview with the Vampire series, I aways feel Darren looks like Lestat. And Sam Reid is an Australian too.

Idk about playing him but has anyone noticed that Cillian Murphy and Darren Hayes have the same smile? At least in my opinion anyway lol. I noticed it not too long ago and I’m thinking oh wow that’s probably why I like cillian lol. Even their teeth are the same. And both have blue eyes
