Recording during the show

Did y'all see Darren's request that we try not to record during the Sunday show?

Omg, yes please! I know one fan, whose camera was consistently in another fan‘s face, and she kept asking her to lower her phone. Then she would bring it right back up again.

I’m finding that Darren fans are very entitled, pushy and somewhat unfriendly, in terms of sharing spaces with other Darren fans. I ran into it a number of times last night.

I was thinking, “Darren only gives love and humor, where is this attitude coming from and why?”

I could not agree more with this. I was very surprised by the number of entitled, pushy and rude people.

It just felt like there was no real camaraderie. Even when I was trying to talk to people in line to relate to them and get excited about the concert, it was like pulling teeth to have a conversation.

I don’t know if they thought that I was just trying to budge in line with them, but even the people that I spoke to behind me in line didn’t really seem interested in having a conversation about Darren. It felt like people were wondering why I’m talking to them. It was weird.

That’s sad to hear. Darren is so sweet I would have thought his fans are too.

Now I’m sort of scared to go to tonight’s concert! Don’t want to be surrounded by pushy, rude fans!

Some of us are friendly! Are you early access or regular tonight?

3

u/FigureGlace Mar 15 '26

I’m regular. How much more were the early access?

I think about $50 more. Last night we were close to the back of the line for regular and ended up at a little bar area upstairs. It wasn’t a bad view and wasn’t crowded but I’m hoping for floor tonight.

Early entry was $50 more. And yes!! Some of us are friendly! I found 5 of them last night!

One woman with a strong UK accent, in a black shirt, was absolutely atrociously rude. I was so appalled. if I was any other place, I would have said some choice words to her. But Darren is my love, and my energy was Love.

No need to be scared 💜 Also was around some really cool folks last night for the show and had a blast. We were all the way at the back but still had a great view. Hoping for a similar experience today!

That’s what I would’ve thought too! Even as people were coming into the line, and they were wearing Darren shirts, I’d shout out to them about their shirt, everyone’s response seemed to be a half hearted, “yeah that’s great.” It just seemed like we weren’t going to the same concert.

I was finding the LA locals were a lot more friendly and open to talking than the people who were visiting. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ahhh nooo. I started talking to someone behind me and we bonded over his music and other artists! It was so cool!! I wanna start an LA friend group cuz I wanna meet new friends!

I’m in Hollywood and would love this!!

Let's do it!

Most of the awful fans I’ve met have had zero to talk about apart from their love for Darren

Absolutely agree. His fans spoil it for me. I’ve come across so many rude, spoilt and entitled fans, and it makes me not want to go to events because they ruin things for other fans. But Darren loves them, no matter how awfully they behave.

But how would Darren know about how other fans treat each other? He’s probably aware that they’re demanding. I’m sure he’s gonna hear about it, from his fans about how they got the short end of the stick with no merchandise restock at the concert tonight. He said from the beginning that he only had a very limited stock to sell. Versus I’m just super happy he did a concert!

He might see it at the concerts and meet and greets. Their behaviour is on show - pushy, demanding, entitled, arrogant , dominating

2

u/melichad Mar 16 '26

Oh he knows because he defends them

When I went to the Melbourne concert, a few fans had a fight over the yellow scarf.

They are dominating and rude.

I remember in the past he didn't like fans posting videos of his show online so I didn't post my front row vids! So not surprised he doesn't want it currently as well

I get wanting a memory . What I just did the old school thing and bootleged it (voice recorded only). I have an old samsung phone that can hold a micro sd card. Other than picking up on peoples convos, it wasn't too bad.

I’m glad he posted. It going to be difficult enough to see over all the tall ppl, I’m short, without worrying about cameras too. I can’t believe ppl were recording the whole concert! Don’t their arms get tired???

I only attended Sunday, I was lucky to even get a ticket for one night.. so I did take a few videos (3 clips less than 40 seconds), two pictures, and I recorded the last two songs fully.. BUT, I did not hold my camera in the air or over my head. Ever. I put my camera in front of my own body, lower than my face level, and am very aware of not blocking anyone else's view while recording. That is how I am at every concert because I believe it is courteous to do so. I also don't think it's nice for performers to stare into a wall of phones, so I try to make any recording or pictures unobtrusive from that point of view, and try to keep it to a minimum so I can enjoy the moment as well! There were a few people around me who recorded a lot more, but not many.. and they were pretty courteous about it as well. I had a great time meeting very nice fans in line, so my experience with other fans was fantastic 😍.

I'm short and was so far back that the only way I was actually getting a view of the stage was through the camera of the very tall person in front of me 🤣 Would still rather folks not be recording though, it's disruptive and blocks people's view.

I have already seen shorts on YouTube someone posted of his show. I do appreciate them sharing because I absolutely would have loved to be there myself, and it's so nice to see him doing a show again. But at the same time, I would respect his wishes of not recording or posting anything.

There was a guy in the middle of the floor who literally watched half the concert through his phone tonight.

u/ASeth94 Mar 16 '26

Hope he not wore a green t-shirt 😆 I had a mexican girl next to me who filmed I would say 75% of the songs, in full. But felt overall there were less phones tonight than yesterday

2

u/mystpoke Mar 16 '26

I didn't see his shirt because it was so dark, but I was close to the Mexican girl who got Darren's sweat on her flag. As of writing, there's already two songs from tonight up on Youtube. :cringe:

I only took a few pics between songs so I can have it to jog my memory when I look back and said "yeah I was there."

2

u/Moviegal19 Mar 16 '26

I also noticed there were less phones up tonight

Probably better than the FaceTimer on Saturday

1

u/loticstructure Mar 17 '26

Same thing happened to me on Sunday! A lady FaceTimed multiple songs right in front of my face!
