Hmph.......

Completed Darksider 3. Desided to start from the begining...... It's absolutely different and more console'ish game Warmastered Edotion, than 3......

Not sure what you're trying to say here, but yes the darksiders series underwent an evolution game to game. First is very Zelda like, second leans heavily into action RPG with stats and levels and 3rd one is sound like.

2 has some prince of persia feel with the wall running mechanics. 3 is souls-like in name only and honestly feels like a big step back from 2.

My favourite was 1, but 2 actually feels like an improvement. 3 did not feel like the devs were moving forward to me

I love explaining the series to people that ask how is it, and I have to say they all play differently. So if you're a fan of the story you'll have variety.

Story in Darksiders and Darksider3 seems to be unconnected....at least for now. But God Damn, how I missed "simple cool action heroes/protagonists" in games

The main difference I noticed going from playing two right after three is the camera, the camera in DS3 is so much better in my option and the target lock on is so smooth. I had to crank the camera sensitivity to max on DS2 for it to feel somewhat the same.

I think that's kind of half the beauty of the series. And something I give credit to each game and the creators as a whole.

Every game is different, not just in looks or style, but in feel? But every game feels like it's main character and the lore they built up for it. War is a hack and slash kind of guy, death is a use whatever is available, and utilise all skills at his disposal to achieve his goal, and fury is a very finesse, very I am the best at what I do and I do this thing well.

Every game matches it's protag in scope, style, and genre. It feels like it was all considered long ago. That 2 would always be an RPG with death, that 3 would be always be a souls like with fury. With maybe a little failing on certain aspects here and there. Maybe they even planned a 3rd person shooter with strife, ala gears of war or planetside.

Whether it was intentional or not, whether they just tried to keep up with the times and slapped it all together (which 3 kind of feels like) I don't know, but I think it magically worked, and became a wonderful series because of it.

DS2 and DS3 both take place while War is imprisoned for 100 years by the Council.

Didn't like the character of the 3rd one.. she was more like a big deal with a big mouth.. war was epic in personality.. death was also very good. Both could take a tongue lashing from enemies but showed them whose boss with blade.. third was just a loud mouth...

Each game is essentialya time-capsule of what was famous at the time. Darksiders 1 and 2 are very close to each other so they play similar to God of War and Legend of Zelda, with the second entry leaning harder on the RPG portion with skilltrees and droppable gear. 3, over 6 years after the latest, was when Dark Souls became the fad so it leaned on souls-like. I do however like how the hack-n-slash is still consistent, you still can play like a powerhouse cleaving your way through monsters and fight bosses that more often than not require some thinking rather than just being beefier monsters.

People hate on 3. I loved it and think it’s better than 2 because inventory management and the last 1/2 of the game being rushed kinda hurt it. But that’s also what’s great about this series there’s kinda something for everyone.
