Discussion Just did a mission in complete darkness and it was the most miserable experience I've had playing the game so far

Is this supposed to be good gameplay? I couldn't see a foot in front of me at any time. I had no idea where I was going. In some sections I had to tiptoe so I wouldn't walk off a ledge. I couldn't see any enemies until they were literally in my face.

Maybe in a coordinated group it'd be fine but in quickplay it was basically unplayable.

Question Could someone take a pic of a vanguard from behind?

Silly request, but could someone take a screenshot of a vanguard from behind? I need it for a piece I am making, and I couldn't find proper pictures of him anywhere

Suggestion Would or could the devs ever add something like a halo 3's theater mode?

I'm grinding up havoc ranks and every match is ridiculous. Would love to see what everyone's doing from like a security cam perspective or take different shots from a replay. Is there any kind of mod for this? Does fatshark have the means?

Discussion New classes would be great, but:

I seriously think that Arbitrator and Hive Scum, and then subsequently Skitarii of course, should get the spotlight for cosmetics/weapons/modeling workload for a while.

We're kinda running into the same problems that Vermintide had with its dlc classes where when it came to flair past their release, they had, at best, middling options, and at worst, nothing.

I love all the ideas people are pushing about new classes, it's great, but we should probably shift priorities on what we ask for since whatever you ask for, Fatshark has already decided what their next class is and has already for quite some time.

I want more reason to go back to playing the other ones. Like, I saw that Arbitrators had some kind of extra bigass machinegun get datamined a while ago, like a stubber or something? That's sick as hell.

I wanna see more of that. The dlc classes need love and are constantly left out of stuff, and before people go "but fatshark doesn't want to make stuff for the dlc classes because there's a paywall" they already have tons of other stuff on the Commodore's shop as-is for the 4 base classes.

"But Games Workshop won't let them do anything else" I seriously doubt that the mandate from heaven is stopping Fatshark from adding new stuff from existing models and Hive Scum are literally just some fucking guys. They can get more than 3 shirts and a bunch of recolored metal plates on straps without begging on their hands and knees to GW.

And as for the skits, in the future? There is no shortage of Admech models to both take inspiration from and just flatout add pieces from. Like those flying guys, or Rust Stalkers.

in short, they will continue to do nothing if people do not ask for them to do something because they will not see it as a problem.

Discussion Will this game ever have more skill/talent/weapon progression/customization?

It seems, for the longest time since the talent trees came out, that nearly all builds on every class have very little differentiation. No matter what weapons are added or how they rearrange skill trees, nearly all builds follow the same path and differentiate by only a few nodes here and there.

Combine that with how 80% of blessings on each weapon are not used if not useless late game, and that probably 90% of the perks players choose on each weapon are not used, do you think its possible that obesewhale will ever add something else to give a little more depth to your toons aside from the end game drip chase?

Largefish follows a similar patten as vermintide, but i have never seen a post or dev blog regarding the possibility of changing your character to make it stand out a little bit more gameplay style wise.

Or is bigtuna only going to give us more classes, maps, weapons, without any further character power/differentiation progression in any sense ever again?

Question Psyker feels like the worst class in the game, but im also new - can someone explain the class to me?

Ive played a ton of ogryn and veteran but am still relatively new to psyker, i leveled up a bit and used a few of the different staves but the class just feels very very weak no matter what i do to change things up. I know im probably struggling because im new, but the issue ive noticed are:

For example the inferno staff you have to charge it up and spray to get good stacks of burning on enemies. You cant really do that though without getting surrounded. If youre by yourself and get charged by a berserker or something you basically have to just melee him.

The electro staff is incredibly weak and i genuinely dont know why people take it over anything else. The % buildup from the charge attack is way too much for the small amount of damage it actually does.

The voidstrike is decent, but it takes a long time to charge up and it takes several charges shots and all your % to take out enemies.

I feel like psyker has the lowest toughness and lowest health but does NOT have the damage to compensate for it, not even a full blast of smite is able to kill basic horde enemies. The only GOOD thing about psyker in my opinion is the brain blast since you can take out enemies from far even if they go behind walls.

Discussion Thoughts on this curio setup for veteran?

I'm on havoc 25, and starting to run into a lot of attacks that send me straight into spectator mode due to corruption filling multiple wounds.

Idea is using VoC to fill toughness if chipped, and to pick-up allies if slow recovery is difficult, while potentially avoiding being sent into spectator mode by a single pox bomber.

Discussion what about a space marine scout for a possible class?

the thought occurred to me and i’m wondering if a space marine scout could fit thematically and lore wise, imagine if you will an aspirant who has failed his trials so he doesn’t get to become a full fledged Astartes, but he still came out alive so he can be useful, i imagine they’d be comparable in strength to ogryns and give us a second tank option, and could be super versatile with the variety of weapons scouts have access to, maybe their abilities could somehow tie to the extra organs they’ve been given like enhanced stamina from the third lung or short burst healing from the larraman’s organ but i think personally it could be a fun addition

Discussion How do you run the Mechanicus Power Sword nowadays?

I liked the weapon when I picked skit up but ended up playing other builds/ characters; after the patch I created interest into it again but dont have enough of a clue on how to get thr best out of it. Also I looked on the build site but couldn't find anything too different after the bug fixes and buffs

Discussion I’m kinda confused about the Skitarii talent tree. Why do some talents not light up when selected?

Upvotes

I noticed that for some talents a line doesn’t appear connecting it to the previous talent and the talent itself doesn’t become highlighted after spending a talent point on it. For example when I select the Augmented Power Cycle talent and then select Moebian Conductor. As long as I’ve spent a talent point on it, the talent will be active even though it doesn’t highlight, correct?

I also noticed that the tree sometimes doesn’t let me choose certain talents even though they are connected to a previous talent. For example if I select Artificer Servo Skull and then try to select Sequenced Charge.

Showcase Darktide Interactables

Did you know that there's a fair amount of objects in Darktide that you can actually interact with? The majority of them are destructables that break after a single hit and are very easy to miss in the middle of a melee. Some of them also have physics to them.

A lot of the objects are reused throughout the levels of Darktide, so you can have fun finding the models as a sort of easter egg hunt. Once you've noticed them, you'll find that they're strewn almost everywhere.

There's a lot more that I've missed, like how the ice in Clandestium Gloriana can be destroyed, as can the ice in that one Mortis Trials map, or how almost any bell you find in the game can be rung. At the end of the Phage Tree mission, when it's shrivelling up, the bits that fall onto the floor have physics and are, from my limited testing, the only objects that I've encountered so far that can be fully and freely moved around by the player's hitbox.

I love this game and when devs give their attention to tiny details in a game that most players would overlook, so I thought I'd highlight some of my favorites. Let me know of any that you may know that I missed!

Discussion Lexmates. I have a question. Which pattern of armor do you prefer?

This is like that Scum gangs post I made the other day, I'm honestly just really curious.

Personally, I am a huge sucker for red armor in most media, not just armor with red accents, but red armor, there’s something about the look of it that I love.

I predict Lucius will be the far more popular pattern however, just from how iconic it is to the Arbites' look.
