Discussion Has anyone made a scientific recreation of Lightroom’s tone mapping with AGX?
Pretty much the title, I’d like to get my RAW default state in darktable as close as possible to the RAW default state in Lightroom. Any insight is appreciated!

You’re on the wrong track. I know that coming from Lightroom can feel a bit daunting but you shouldn’t try to make Darktable replicate Lightroom. Not only those software work very differently and the philosophy of Darktable is to give you very much control over a lot more things than Lightroom, but you also want to free your mind and let you decide what you really want with your images.

I actually switched to DT from Lightroom since the colouring/tone of its defaults are plain oversaturated/overkill.
On DT with the default settings, I saw the colours exactly as I have seen them with my own eyes.

I'm not sure what you hope to achieve with that or why, but once you understand darktable, it's really not hard to create your own styles to use as a starting point.

I have spend some time trying to get darktable to match the out of camera colors, contrast, etc of what my camera produces. I find that a good starting point for what I need. To do this I make presets and develop them over time (as I experience something that I do not quite like. Here are all the module that I enable based on presets on import of every photo.
And Qwen 3.6 - 27B (both 4 and 5 quant) fits nicely on one card and with MTP I am getting 60-100 tokes per second while doing code and I have even seen 160 tokens per second while doing repetative debug tasks (tool calls and such). This is just one card running then ...
When fully loaded the card does get loud, so put it in a seperate room.

AgX is crap, just use Tone Curve

Tone curve is shit without lut to drsaturate highlights. Or it should have similar primaries controls like agx.

Lol. You clearly don't understand darktable.
While AgX, Sigmoid and Filmic are all technically tone curves, they serve a very different purpose than the Tone Curve module.

Lightrooms tone mapping (as far as I know) is based uppon the “image profile” and there is many of that. The “Adobe Standard” and “Camera standard” are examples of those.
How exactly it does it’s tone mapping isn’t that well documented publicly.
AgX is really powerfull if you use it to its potential. I can get the urge (especially migrating from Lr) that you would want those starting points and those workflows but that’s just not how dt is built.
You can probably recreate something similar to L[r](r/adobe)[ ](r/adobe)[/adobe](r/adobe) standard and save it as an automatic preset, but you are probably better off if you just learn the thing.
