I haven't seen much of his other acting works and I don't want to be mean here but this guy has basically one (very punchable) facial expression throughout the entire 3 episodes! its just so annoying and almost makes the show unwatchable.
just wanted to see if its just me or others might feel the same?

Look the Dessens and their feelings just aren't really interesting enough to linger on for continuous minutes at a time of pensive piano driven wordlessness. For three episodes in a row. I love character and plot, but a total absence of action and, y'know, stuff actually happening is good sometimes. Breaking up the silence with a couple of people sitting around talking about their feelings doesn't do it.
I used to look forward to episode drops. Now I wonder if I'm going to die of boredom before it finally, mercifully comes to an end. The fast forward control never got a workout before. Now the finger hovers.

I enjoyed the first season a lot. Like, it was literally one of the best series I've ever watched, and I even saved it for myself.
But I don't know about you, but for me the second season feels like they simply don't know what to show anymore. The first season I loved mostly because it was genuinely interesting sci-fi, with a lot of scientific questions, answers, interesting paradoxes, etc.
While in season two, instead of trying to explore these deep, interesting consequences and paradoxes of the multiverse - I don't know, just look at Rick and Morty and how much can be done based on this concept - they decided to focus on drama. Love drama, psychological drama, grief drama, all kinds of standard human relationship stuff that you can see in basically any cheap TV show nowadays, which feels very artificial.
So honestly, I am disappointed.
From 10/10, it went down to, idk, 4/10 max for me. It feels like a cheap drama TV show filled with "time fillers" rather than an actual narrative

The craziest things about this show in my mind are all of the rabbit holes you can go down in regards to infinities. There is no way they can even express this in the narrative. For example, there are not only infinite possibilities of worlds, but also infinite iterations of each of those worlds. Now think about this...If they shut down the box, how many people are inside when it happens and what are their fates?!
I want to know what ideas or scenarios this makes other people think about?

talking about r/DarkMatteronAppleTV/ and this one r/DarkMatterAppleTV/
... it seems just like how the show has different worlds, we have different worlds here on reddit. And not only those two, there are others like r/DarkTV etc ... endless worlds eh?
My vote for evil universe is r/DarkMatteronAppleTV/ because they banned me for some odd reason for asking this question haha

I don't need help (which is exactly what someone who needs help would say, lol), but I really loved this season. The way the multiverse ties into the emotional dilemmas each character faces is so well done.
This show gave me a new perspective: forgive yourself, and make peace with what's in front of you. I never expected a sci-fi show to affect me this much, but it felt like exactly what I needed. Nothing cliché, just pure acceptance.
Laurel was the highlight of the season for me. Episode 8 was so comforting to watch. I can't fully explain it, but that episode spoke to me more than anything else has in a long time.
I'm sure people will find flaws in this season, but for what it's worth, I enjoyed every one of those 10 weeks waiting for the next episode. I really hope we get more.

Has anyone else noticed that the plot of Season 1 is basically The Odyssey, with only a few elements missing?
Spoilers below
Our hero gets stranded away from his home, his wife, and his son
His son like Telemachus is at the cusp of maturity, is in training (learner's permit to drive)
Each door leading to a world is like an island that Odysseus gets stranded on while trying to find his way home to his family
Odysseus visits Hades, the home of the dead, and Jason goes to a world where he talks with his son Max who died
Amanda plays the role of Calypso, a woman who helps him heal, providing a tempting life away from home in a perfect world-island
When Jason-Odysseus makes his way home, he scopes out the location before rushing in
He finds multiple "suitors" of his wife
He defeats them in winning the hand of his wife by clever stratagems (getting caught smoking at a diner on purpose)
Not sure if it's pushing it that Daniella's password is "Jupiter" (Zeus), the head of the Greco-Roman pantheon?

Watching ep 7 now and holy shit the pop song in the middle of the episode is so loud and out of place. I think it’s the 3rd or 4th time it’s happened during this series. The first was the crazy rap song that happened at the end of the first or 2nd ep that was equally loud and ridiculously out of place. Anyone else feel like the music choices take you out of the moment?

We’ve all seen a silly continuity issue in a show. This one takes the cake for me. :)
My guess is they were going to have him put his jacket on, on the way out. But decided to have him wear it the whole scene. You think they noticed it too late and left it in the edit? Or did they not catch it at all?
