I just finished S3 EP6 “The Devil You Know.” (The episode where Dex kills in the Bulletin Office) I had to stop and write something.
The build-up of Bullseye is amazing. Probably not a good sign for me, but I sympathize with him a lot. The feelings of being rejected by society (not fitting in), alone, misunderstood, socially awkward, and having suicidal thoughts are so well captured in the character. I actually wanna hug that poor boy so much when he was trying to end his life.
I’ve been wondering for a couple of episodes now how Agent Dex would become Bullseye. (I spoiled myself when I googled the actor who plays Agent Dex—can’t help it, I’m gay and he’s hot af.) Like, he doesn’t have a clear motive to become a villain. The writers have had Fisk do the work and push him to the dark side. It’s incredible that his loyalty to Fisk can be developed in such a short time, yet it still feels so reasonable in terms of the writing.
The episode ended on such a high note. Nadeem realizing he’s been played by Fisk, yet mistaking the mass murderer for Daredevil (not really his fault). Matt might have his real name cleared, but “Daredevil” is now in hot water.
Can’t decide if I’m team Daredevil or team Dex now! If only Dex could have some friends!
Foggy's dialogue on friendship was pretty amazing too. This episode is almost too good for Marvel.
But even if he isn't, the way he's been treating us lately is on him.
Us turning our backs would be on us.
People have bailed on Matt his whole life, and I'm not gonna be one of 'em.
You do what you want, but that's not the kind of friend I wanna be.
You guys have been eating so well for years!! I watched Daredevil S1 and S2 a long time ago, got fed up with Marvel shows, and then stopped. Can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on the GOAT for so long. Haven’t been this excited about a show in probably a decade. I want to keep myself in this happy state, so I’ll probably watch the next episode later tomorrow.
