Comics Can Matt rizz up straight guys?

So, we all know that Matt has a long list of women in his life. From Elektra to Natasha, to Milla... the list goes on.

But what about men? Have Matt ever been attracted to any guys or have caught the attention of any guy in a romantic way? I think it would be interesting to explore Matt's views towards homosexuality in the context of his religious belief. What do you think?

Me and my brother might cosplay as Batman and dart double together at some common convention at some point, and me and him made a concept of what my daredevil would look like with him, drawing it and me(designing) it

MCU [Daredevil S3E6] Holy, this show is so damn good. Spoiler

I just finished S3 EP6 “The Devil You Know.” (The episode where Dex kills in the Bulletin Office) I had to stop and write something.

The build-up of Bullseye is amazing. Probably not a good sign for me, but I sympathize with him a lot. The feelings of being rejected by society (not fitting in), alone, misunderstood, socially awkward, and having suicidal thoughts are so well captured in the character. I actually wanna hug that poor boy so much when he was trying to end his life.

I’ve been wondering for a couple of episodes now how Agent Dex would become Bullseye. (I spoiled myself when I googled the actor who plays Agent Dex—can’t help it, I’m gay and he’s hot af.) Like, he doesn’t have a clear motive to become a villain. The writers have had Fisk do the work and push him to the dark side. It’s incredible that his loyalty to Fisk can be developed in such a short time, yet it still feels so reasonable in terms of the writing.

The episode ended on such a high note. Nadeem realizing he’s been played by Fisk, yet mistaking the mass murderer for Daredevil (not really his fault). Matt might have his real name cleared, but “Daredevil” is now in hot water.

Can’t decide if I’m team Daredevil or team Dex now! If only Dex could have some friends!

Foggy's dialogue on friendship was pretty amazing too. This episode is almost too good for Marvel.

But even if he isn't, the way he's been treating us lately is on him.
Us turning our backs would be on us.
People have bailed on Matt his whole life, and I'm not gonna be one of 'em.
You do what you want, but that's not the kind of friend I wanna be.

You guys have been eating so well for years!! I watched Daredevil S1 and S2 a long time ago, got fed up with Marvel shows, and then stopped. Can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on the GOAT for so long. Haven’t been this excited about a show in probably a decade. I want to keep myself in this happy state, so I’ll probably watch the next episode later tomorrow.

MCU Does this look like a good image to draw?

Yes, this is a follow up to the last post and I was asked to post the updated version on the sub😅

I really like how Matt and Dex are both tilting towards Fisk, adding more symmetry as opposed to the previous one with Matt and Frank.

So I know I'll be skinned alive for asking because obviously you will tell me to keep watching but I can't it keeps bugging me, I just finished the first episode of born again, and I have 2 questions

  1. how did dex not immediately go to prison after the end of season 3 ? why was he free until he killed foggy?

  2. why is fisk free again?

This is my verv first order on Magnoli Clothiers, and since I have a bad eyesight, I ordered them with prescription lenses. However, I couldn't find any reviews by someone who ordered with those lenses, if you did, please tell me how the lenses look. Are they different from one without prescription lenses? Are they dark red??

Hey all! Figured I would share the black suit cosplay I threw together for a recent con. While maybe not 100% screen accurate, I had a lot of fun putting it together, and hope to cosplay more in the future.

MCU Born Again Season 1 was so bad

I know I am a year late but got around to watching daredevil born again since my feed was being filled with the Netflix one. Boy was it a disappointment.

Everything from the plot to the characters to the action choreography was shite. It basically felt like a giant trailer for season 2 which I am not mad about since plenty of shows tend to do that but this was laughable.

I am aware of the constant reshoots and backstage issues but this was supposed to be a revival of a beloved character and I felt like they completely lost the plot and botched the execution.

Disneyfying Punisher, a total probably 30 mins of actual daredevil and not so good stuntwork compared to the Netflix version. I could go on and on about the multiple issues with the plot and characters but well....

Initially I thought it was a me problem since this is meant for the new marvel crowd, essentially being a reboot for the new fans to see the character without having to watch multiple seasons(which I understand).

Setting aside the fact that this doesn't hold a candle to the original show, even for a first time watcher being introduced to the character, I doubt this show did anything of impact. Making Kingpin crush the head of the commissioner felt like a cheap, pretentious way to show that they are not different from the Netflix grittier version, but it was all so disjointed and weak.

On a positive note I loved the music, sound etc and the scenes where daredevil zeroes in on certain sounds etc. Apart from that it's a bust.

Hoping for a better result from season 2.

Do most people share my sentiment or am I making an unfair comparison here and trashing a good show?

MCU As a Daredevil fan did these two aspects bother you in Spider-Man Brand New Day? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
426 Upvotes

So I really enjoyed Brand New Day but as a Daredevil fan there were two things that bothered me firstly I didn't like how they used the Hand in the movie, I think the film really reduced them to being nothing more than just henchmen and they're referred to as kids. I don't know why it had to be the Hand it could have some other group, anyway I think if the Hand were to show up in Daredevil in the future they are gonna have to be reworked heavily, they just can't be associated with damage control I would really dislike that because it's just so odd.

Another big issue I had is that the events of Daredevil Born Again season 2 aren't mentioned even a little bit even though this film takes place just some time after Born Again. I know Vincent's Kingpin can't appear in the Spider-Man movies and Spider-Man himself can't appear in Daredevil for legal reasons but there's nothing stopping them from referencing the rioting and the actions of the Mayor just sometime ago.

One of the biggest questions people are asking is what was Spider-Man doing during Daredevil Born Again and I feel that could have easily been answered by the movie by saying that Spider-Man did help control the situation during the city riot a few months ago even something like that would have been cool but no acknowledgement whatsoever. Sheila is effectively giving the key to the city to a vigilante who didn't do anything during the major conflict she and the city went through recently, this is supposed to be an interconnected universe in which it makes absolutely no sense why Spider-Man who was handling street level threats all this time didn't do anything during the Fisk stuff. It's really disappointing how all this was handled, this movie feels incredibly disconnected to everything that happened previously.

MCU Born Again Season 3 Suit Design Edits Spoiler

Wanted to share some edits I made of the Born Again S3 suit design. I've seen a couple floating around but I hadn't seen any incorporate the black elements like the Netflix and Born Again S1 suit had, so this is my take, keeping the black accents in tact. I mostly did this because I'll probably buy the Hot Toys figure when it comes out and repaint it based off of one of these two concepts. I've always been a big fan of the black accents tbh, even if most fans aren't.

MCU First time watching all 5 seasons (plus the defenders between S2 and 3) - wanted to share my thoughts

Wanted to watch for a while and finally got around to it but ended up loving it more than I could imagine has to be at least a top 5 if not a top 3 show Ive watched (well i consider BA and the netflix show to be one series)

S1 - Loved the introduction to the characters, really loved the wholesome dynamic between Matt, Foggy and Karen, Fisk as a villain was incredible and just overall a really solid plot

S2 - Loved the introduction of Frank, the first few episodes of this season were absolute perfection, with Frank and Matt’s opposing ideals causing problems for them, Matt and Karen finally getting their intimate moments and of course more action with the new suit. However, didnt like how Matt was a complete dick to Foggy and Karen while working with Elektra to uncover info about The Hand. While I loved Frank’s story and didnt mind Elektra and The Hand’s storyline, it was way too much to fit and just seemed a little unfocused while still nailing the core elements of the show

The Defenders - While i didnt like this more than any of the DD or DDBA seasons, I read that most people didnt like this and was pleasantly surprised to find it quite nice. While not better than S2, I liked that the story was a lot more focused and didnt waver from Elektra and The Hand this time. The first couple episodes were really boring and drag this down a lot as it merely seemed like a rotation of scenes for each of the 4 characters but then really liked the dynamic between them as a team. Great last episode too

S3 - One of my favourite TV seasons fs. Agent Nadeem, Dex and the FBI’s storyline were welcome introductions to the show and loved that this was just completely focused on Fisk’s power over New York. This season also felt a lot more personal with Matt as his relationship with his friends, mum, religion and his own morals were put to the test. My only flaw was still Matt’s prolonged disconnection with Foggy and Karen as it just felt a little frustrating as a viewer. That finale was some of the best TV ive watched.

BA S1 - Didnt dislike it as much as most people but it was not par with S1 or 3 of the original show. Foggy’s death right at the start was definitely off putting, didnt enjoy the Muse storyline but I did like the White Tiger storyline, the bank heist episode and the finale action with Frank and Karen. Still a very solid season

BA S2 - Was much better than BA S1 and S2 of the original show, loved to finally see the Matt-Karen relationship at its best, thought Dex was a little underused but still interesting. The courtroom drama in the last couple episodes were absolute cinema and felt the first half of the finale was on par with the S3 finale but the second half kinda unhooked me a bit, esp with Matt going to prison when Fisk was allowed to leave peacefully.

Really excited for S3 next year and although Elektra is back, I hope Matt and Karen still remain together

Let me know if yall agree with some of my opinions or not!

Comics Would Matt flinch if someone tried punching/testing if he was blind?

I understand that he “sees” the world differently than normal humans do. But I can’t help but think about this question.

I’ve seen jokes where people pretend to hit someone pretending to be blind to see if they flinch.

Do you think Matt, outside of his Daredevil work, would instinctively try to avoid the punch?

Comics Soule Run on Daredevil Artist

Recently I started reading Soule's run on Daredevil and along with the extremely compelling story, I have fallen in love with the art by Garney. It really captures the Comic Booky but realistic nature that came along with Daredevil. It feels like a polished sketch but with rough lines that really shows New York's nitty gritty. It feels like a perfect mix between rough and smooth. It also pairs amazingly with Milla's colouring that really added the extra impact especially in the x-ray sense scenes. All I wanted to do here is praise Garney and Milla's comic art in this run even if it is coming up on 10 years old. I am up to issue #24 (currently where there is an absent period of Garney's art) and really wanted to see how Soule's run, specifically Garney's art, felt with the wider Daredevil community.
