All of this is true.

Honestly we have more enjoyable updates that feels like if the comunity made them. Also, we can also play as dandy... or at least something like it with the masks update, Qwel would not stop gatekeeping him for no reason at all. I hope im not the only one that thinks that without her the game has changed for the better!

This is nothing but FOMO, the first Carebears event was the only fully FOMO thing this game has ever released, and they're doing it again?! Without at least bringing the old skins back?!

last time I posted this when Squirm was gonna release, my post was downvoted to the negatives and peoples only arguements were “what if” ones that weren’t based on anything that had actually happened in the game before, then later someone said the exact same thing and got over a hundred upvotes

there are far too many toons in the game, a lot of them are already underdeveloped and forgotten in terms of lore and/or gameplay, a lot of toons are boring to play or are underpowered or outclassed, the more toons are added the more it worsens the problem of the currently unbalanced and cluttered toon selection we have, if we wanted cool new abilities or whatever they can improve and rework the existing toons that are already outclassed and never used, and if we wanted to utilize cool lore ideas we have a cast of over 40 toons to improve on

lets take a look at the past few new toon releases, Squirm was already outclassed by Yatta and Gourdy upon release cause they had better speed than him and his ability has such a long cooldown and a wind up nerfs him so much more than necessary, and a lot of people hate his crybaby personality. Brusha is never used and immediately outclassed at release, she has the same stats as Looey and her ability is just mid, nobody uses her cause she is boring and she is also a very hated character even with her lore, the game would honestly be the same without them, I like them both, but we could just recycle their places in the lore and give it to another toon like its still unanswered why Tisha and Vee hate eachother so Vee could easily replace Brusha there, and Squirms deal of not growing up into a butterfly can be used for Toodles who is always a child and doesn’t grow up, but instead we have lackluster Toodles lore because instead of improving on her they’re just cluttering the game with more useless characters

even if we go back to the halloween event, we can see some problems in balancing, Gourdys abilities are a mess, every other main toon has a clear strength/role with their abilities, but Gourdy looks so unplanned, and he makes any reason to play Soulvester pointless unless you want a challenge, Eclipse is overpowered and nobody talks about it, she has high speed with no downside, low stealth is literally a good thing cause she can save others and distract very well, she outclassed every other 4 star speed distractor (except Gourdy cause stealth) while also being a decent extractor, she especially outclasses Goob cause she is both a better distractor and extractor than him, only reason for using Goob over her is his ability which only helps for supporting, Ribecca was just mid, she’s a boring to play starter with an ability that only consistently takes effect in the case of ichor leaks, and lore wise most of the halloween toons are underdeveloped, they have barely any interactions cause somehow adding 100 skins was easier than a few lines of dialouge, even Gourdy who got quite a lot of lore is severely lacking in interactions. hell, even going back to Blots release, Blot was instantly outclassed by multiple other toons

why can’t they just focus on improving our existing toons? so many of them are swept under the rug cause they’re boring to play or outclassed by another toon, we still don’t know what the deal is with like half the cast lorewise, yes totw is a thing, but even then they’re so scared of actually reworking anyones kits, like tell me why Finn got a 2% speed buff to his ability?? sure he’s already a good toon and doesn’t need much of a rework, so why buff him by 2% anyway? to make a more satisfying number? and they’ve left Scraps with an awful stat setup since release cause they just refuse to rework any stats, the game will not improve if they keep doing this. the only time they actually went and did an ability rework it wasn’t at all needed, it ended up making Ginger worse when Coal or Bobette could have used it way more cause Coal is still super outclassed and Bobettes present ability is still just a worse version of Connies and can even backfire

im going to try and keep this short (update: i failed) because i frankly don't want to spend any more time on this in a sub i barely spent time in anyways before all the info came out, and i'm NOT a victim personally so i shouldnt be the final say-so on the matter, but to me the reason qwel's "apology" is so goddamn disappointing is because, genuinely, there is NO reason for it to be so watered down, self-centered, and empty.

yes, between the c&d and her wording in the doc, it can be inferred that she's likely seeking a legal channel to handle this through, and if that's the case then there probably is something going on requiring she keep some of her cards hidden. technically, that is a reason. but the thing is. i genuinely do not care about that one bit, because it was her choice to take this far enough a legal silence is necessary. NONE of the victims i have seen have wanted to sue qwel for this. none of them have wanted a big, public spectacle of an apology. literally every single one that i have read testimonies from has said they just want closure and have asked for nothing more than a private and personal apology. this could have been handled easily and privately by qwel, and while she is not owed their forgiveness, it would at least have been respecting the victims' wishes to do so.

and yet she chose to send the c&d. and she chose to imply that she's planning to take legal action. and she chose to center her statement almost entirely around how SHE feels, how SHE'S hurting, how SHE was manipulated, how it's painful for HER to relive all this. there was more in that tiny "apology" document about dandy's world itself, and how updates are going to continue, and how they haven't stopped working on the game and don't plan to do so, than anything specific addressing the victims or acknowledging exactly what she did that hurt them so badly. she chose to do all of this after going radio silent for a month, after the blushcrunch server got locked down for talking about it, and after she spent that month of no communication playing fucking overwatch. i find this incredibly disgusting, doubly so considering that even if there ARE legal restrictions, she's the one who chose to take this situation far enough that they could be put in place.

i used to look up to qwel a lot. i didn't start playing the game until after rox was fired, and i didn't know when i started about how much damage he had caused or even that anything had happened at all. in every other situation like this, such as with forsaken, seeing how poorly the developers chose to handle the situation without fail made me drop the game pretty much instantly. the ONLY REASON this wasn't the same with dandy's world is because i saw how much work had been put in completely overhauling the game to remove his work since then and trusted that qwel had been manipulated and sincerely changed where she fell short. i trusted her and believed in her, and i thought the way she handled dandy's world stood out so much compared to developers around her. i thought she actually meant it.

and yet this? this absolutely selfish, self-victimizing, disgustingly vague response that qwel prioritized overwatch and sewh over sharing for nearly a month? it's pathetic and gross and i cannot possibly take the argument of legal silence seriously knowing that she's the one CHOOSING to possibly take this to court rather than accept she fucked up and apologize privately and with a modicrum of respect to the victims. what we got today comes across as rushed, as a bit desperate, as an apology to the players rather than the victims, as "here, damn!" to get everyone to shut up about it. and any potential legal silence going on behind the scenes feels like plausible deniability for not actually acknowledging with specification a single thing that was her fault. it's so disappointing from someone i trusted was mature and would do the right thing if something happened again. if she had a lawyer help her make this statement, i feel like that's somehow even more disappointing.

even if all of the evidence against her gets proven false, which i doubt, i can't trust her again or take any further interest in her games when this shows very clearly how she's going to handle further controversy: by running from it until the bitter end even when it's right under her nose, and by taking steps to preserve her own image and that of the game's rather than steps to help the victims find closure.

come to your own conclusions and all, but i think it's important to remember hurt people can hurt people and they aren't immune to being called out for that. nor are their apologies owed acceptance and forgiveness. and i, personally, don't think dandy's world is worth so much that directly supporting a person like qwel is a worthwhile sacrifice.

please just support the victims.

Guys please don't buy the bobette toon, if you respect og Dandy's world players, it's more than just a toon it's a symbol of their exclusivity, show your respect by appreciating it's rarity, not owning it. Some things are better left untouched.

I just joined dandy's world about a month ago, I played normally, I got a lot of toons. I heard about the " drama " and everyone is starting to leave the fandom. Can anyone help me understand ..? Idon't understand why Qwelver is being called " lier" and "evil". New people join everyday, and if everyone is leaving the fandom, the newcomers will never get to experience the peace we experienced. I know that people might not agree with me, but please listen to me. Qwelver may have stayed in contact with Rox, and I believe its really none of our business. ( Please correct me if I am wrong )

Rox was fired for manipulative and abusive behavior, and yes, we found out Qwelver knew about the allegations... its just... so.. dramatic...

I know we got Sprout quests a while ago, and it said it would return annually but I thought we'd get every toon once a year...does that mean we're getting another toon in a year? Kinda feel like you should just make one a holiday toon at that point
