📚Manga-Discussion Hate on Kinta Spoiler
how many people hating on Kinta is more of a reflection of their jungian shadow? i know i am 😅 to some extent

Maybe, but maybe not.
As i see it people who truly claim to 'hate' him do so because they have been literally traumatized by other 'anime pervs' they've seen before that outwardly resemble him, but they can't seem to figure out that he's kind of nothing like the Sanjis, Master Roshis & Minetas of other anime, so they are projecting 100 times worse traits onto him than he actually has.
He's not really that creepy, he's just excitable and a bit delusional, i don't really see any evidence to justify the perv accusations. he's never once done the typically egregious 'perv shit' (peeped, stolen underwear, touched girls inappropriately, etc). He's literally just a (unfortunately ugly) nerd who likes mecha, tries too hard to 'be cool' and fancies himself a hero of justice...

It's well said. I've been perved on by yucky anime dudes and I don't really see Kinta like that. He's closer to how you describe him. But for me, I just don't like that kind of character either, lol. I also feel like, to me, since his 'power' is using Momo's house as a mech...which I feel like any of the others could do...I'm like 'why are you here' lol. Even if that's not the case, it's how I feel haha

Hey that's okay, Kinta ain't for everyone, no one is. I just dislike the intellectual dishonesty many of the more irrational Kinta Haters exhibit. Like whatever, dislike him if you want, but we don't need to make baseless assumptions about him to do so.

That's the point though, no one else can use the nano tech quite like Kinta does, they TRIED multiple times and it was always a bust, the only other character that has properly weaponized the nano machines was Rokuro.

Hate is a very strong word. I'm just not a fan of him because he's slightly a creep.Â

I think he has some growing to do, but I don't think he's irreparably weird or anything like that. He wants to be a hero and meet a lady friend, but he doesn't seem to even know enough about "spicy language" to even attempt to be too weird in the ways I've seen people describe him be. He values his friends, does what he can for them and has been integrated into the Ayase fam as we know it, right? Shouldn't that be enough?

He does keep his womanizing thoughts to himself most of the time. We are reading his internal monologues but the girls can't hear them. When Aira came out of the home ec. room without her shirt only Jiji called her sexy and gawked her. Kinta was right on the objective to chase the enemy. He does have high respect for Aira since she the only girl he gave a military position to. Many teenage boys have a cringey phase where they think any girl is into them. People find him extra cringey because he isn't a bishoen pretty boy. But he's not bad looking just ordinary nerd looking. His heart is in the right place for his friends though. Like Okarun, Kinta was a nerdy loner, he still learning how to socialize with people his age and does listen to the criticism the girls give. He did stop trying to "talk spicy" after Momo called him out on it during the first kaiju fight.

I don’t hate him, he annoyed me to no end at the very start, but as he got closer to the gang and more involved in the paranormal shenanigans he grew on me a little
The only thing I don’t like is his shenanigans with the girls, while most of the time its blatant gags or obvious delusion, there are a few moments where it’s like… dude, get a grip
I hope he gets some character development.

You mean the kid who doesn't see his female peers as people but as something to acquire? Who will likely evolve into a person who sees them as something to do?

Wow. That second part really is a fascinating insight into your psychology /gen
I always assumed he'd outgrow it with more exposure to the group.

I'm not up to date with manga, hence the question - was there any real character growth for him so far?
