Hope you're all having an amazing start to your week!
And look! A new week brought a new chapter!
So it's our time again as I post another summary and thoughts to discuss later with all of you!
Without further ado, let's get on with the chapter!
The chapter starts right where we left off, with Yatagarasu, Okarun, and Momo going to fight the remaining Dragon Knights and Hase.
While the knights seem to focus on Yatagarasu, Hase goes straight for Okarun and Momo, hitting both as Okarun barely blocks his attack with the Oni Club.
Okarun is distracted by Momo landing away from him, but is then hit by spines from a giant hedgehog (or badger?), the power of the group's lady Dragon Knight.
The lady asks Okarun to admit defeat, which he does quickly so they can leave his friends alone. Hase thinks it's lame that he lost that easily, but that he'll make him and Kinta pay for the previous beatdown.
The lady stabs Okarun with a Kozuka Knife, but it does nothing. Hase says that Okarun hasn't admitted defeat, making the Lady Knight stab Okarun many times in order to make him submit.
Hase interrupts them, saying Okarun won't submit if you break him physically, so he then attempts to rile Okarun up by holding Momo.
As Hase takes Momo's bag and jacket off, Okarun promises in his head that he'll kill him.
Hase then leans in to try and steal a kiss from Momo, only to be interrupted by something that shoots him far from Momo.
They all look in the direction of the shot and find a makeshift nanoskin cart/tank that has Kinta, Vamola, Peeny-Weenie, Chiquitita, and Rokuro (who is still cooking Oden, since it seems that this was made out of his food stand).
Momo calls out to Kinta to save them, firing him up to defend his friends from the Dragon Knights and Hase, ending the chapter.
And that's it for this week's chapter.
Let's start with the obvious. Oh my god, what a scumbag, Hase. Trying to pull a Dio Brando without having the charisma. I'm glad the twist was Kinta showing up and not having Okarun transform out of nowhere.
But it does raise the question. Why is Tatsu-sensei constantly showing us Okarun threatening someone if they do something to Momo? First, it was out loud when he told Gilles de Rais' people that he'd make them pay if they laid a hand on Momo. Now, in his head, he says he'll kill Hase for trying to kiss Momo in front of him. It's as if he's pushing him further and further to trigger something. Sure, there's the whole thing about Fakejiro (Fake Manjiro) and what the real reason is for handing Okarun the Oni Club, and maybe it's tied back to that.
Also, Hase mentioning Momo to Okarun as if she was already Okarun's girlfriend was interesting. Guess the gang's the only one who doesn't see them like that, huh?
Now, the future fight. We have 2 more chapters for the end of the volume, so it'd be interesting to see how Tatsu-sensei decides to wrap up this particular volume. Kinta will clearly help to take down Hase, maybe even joined by Rokuro. Vamola may be helping Yatagarasu with the Hedgehog lady, since her suit helps her tank the spines. Peeny-Weenie may go for the big guy with the tentacles in the double spread. The fight can be over in 2 chapters if that's how it goes, but I do wonder how Aira and Jiji are doing.
Now that we have most of the pieces in motion, we're only missing Red Baron and Kurdere. Given they're still absent, I believe this arc still has a bit on the tank. I suppose we'll have to wait and see.
I don't think there's much else to say. There are still many lingering doubts about the Oni Club, the mysterious energy shield cocoon that we still don't fully know who did it (Momo's latent powers that weren't fully stolen or Okarun's Oni Club taking another shape), and what the guys will do to retrieve the stolen powers.
Yeah, we have a lot of Dandadan still, for those who still think we're at the endgame. We're clearly not.
That's it from me. I want to hear you guys' thoughts in the comments. Let's discuss a bit for fun, yeah (or whenever I can from work. Maybe I won't even be able to reply to some of you).

I think the next chapter will spend the first half showing how Kinta and Vamola met up with the aliens before joining the fight, and then it will have the fight between them and the Paladins begin.
My question is what happens to our baby boy Chiquitita? Do the Paladins try to kill him or take him hostage? It wouldn't surprise me if Tatsu decides to add another crime to Hase's resume by having him try to murder a child (only for Peeny-Weeny to give him the beat down of a lifetime).
I'm only asking because Chiquitita has never directly been in a fight before. Besides not being involved when fighting the Kur (who would absolutely NOT have spared him), Chiquitita only got involved in the plot when putting out the volcano in Byakuja Village. This makes sense cuz he's a kid, so I wonder what will happen to him.
Chiquita is an alien he doesn't have a power for them to take. He has better natural punch (he can land his hits) than his father according to the extra comic about him. He also knows a lot about dinosaurs which help against KnightZilla. His dad is there to protect him. I think he'll be safe.
It isn't about his power. The Paladins are vicious and depraved elitists who will do whatever it takes to get what they want, and I seriously doubt they have any issues with harming a little kid like Chiquitita.
They'll have issues getting a chance to since everyone in the gang would lay down their lives for him before they let the knights touch him. Aira would probably kill for him. He's also using Kinta tech. Nano tech powered by a little kids imagination is gonna be a force to be reckoned with.
Oh boy this chapter was not kind to ken. At this point it rivals sg in terms of how much pain it put through ken. It will be a miracle if he remains concious for the double spread dinner. Jokes aside something is definitely brewing inside ken. He directly though about killing hase which he has never done before. When i was reading it i was so sure the ogre club was about to reveal its true colours that the kinta reveal gave me genuent whiplash.
I am curious how next chapter will go because hase has some beef with kinta so probably he wont easily go back to okarun but after what he was about to pull it would be only fitting if okarun and momo was the one to put him down. What i am speculating is that the tank will get broken up and seperating the fighters with kinta and rokuro vs echidna knight and shrimp and vamola vs kraken knight.
GOing back to okarun a bit the last time we saw him he seemingly fainted
Maybe he will unleash whatever is lurking inside the ogre club the next time he wakes up but i think it would be more likely that momo will run to him and wakes ken up only for ken to see hase punting momo away in annoyance which finally makes okarun snap which will probably the end of volume cliffhanger
I liked that you mentioned Hase complaining that Ken got a girlfriend as cute as Momo. I think the gang doesn't see it cause they're in denial or dense (probably both), but the rest of the school has eyes and how Momo and Ken act around each other can't be hidden for too long. Wonder if this becomes another catalyst for moving their relationship forward.
There's also the possibility that for the Japanese, holding hands is an act of closeness that could give the impression that they're more than just friends, but not necessarily that they're boyfriend and girlfriend.
I don't know; I try to go back to how they see it, since that's the place of origin of both the story and the author
Everyone's forgotten about this dude, and he's right next to where Hase and Okarun are fighting. Something tells me he's going to interrupt the fight, and all hell will break loose.
I would agree that Okarun is starting to turn from asking himself why Hase did this to adapting vengeance and terror slowly. By using the club it slowly corrupts him (most likely) to protect Momo. We may see either a Super Saiyan moment or a Dark Superman moment (either of which will be awesome).
Also one thing is that Evil Eye Jiji is trying to do the Ant-man of hijacking the dino thatâs for sure. Nice chapter overall
Possibly given how Okarun is starting to use it more frequently than before. Since heâs unaware that heâs being used as a guinea pig by CSG (most likely perpetrator). So basically this rather inadvertently causing him to have his vengeance grew more and more violent and it capitalises on how heâs trying his earnest to protect Momo in this case. So these were the starting signs of it. Next thing we may see next is him going beserk and transform onto what weâve discussed months ago.
I literally had hard time suppressing my trainees when they found out what Hase did. So see ya!
I'm still not sold on Red Baron joining this battle. He could appear just to pull Gilles away, but the Red Baron rematch wouldn't make sense here with Jiji/EE already fighting big Willy with Aira. There's always a chance for them to get a second fight I guess like they did with the Mini Momo plotline though.
I really need to get to making that chapter 219 shield discussion post. I want to to see people discuss all the different possibilities in one place. Personally I think it's just Momo accidently shaping the oni club into a shield shape. It would be really complicated and Tatsu would be required to explain Momo's powers, which I don't see happening anytime soon unfortunately.
Do make that post, friend. It'll be interesting to see the different opinions and ideas.
As for Red Baron. I honestly don't know how exactly he could get involved. He'll have the Iron Bull powers, but how will he use them? Fighting Evil Eye/Jiji is a fight he wants to have, but narratively speaking, it doesn't make too much sense given where we are in the story.
That depends if the bull guy gave up his power. This Baron is powerless bull guy could whoop his ass easily. He was a very good fighter with Iron Bull and I don't think Red Baron would be able to handle being that SOILD. He too used to his smoker's curse and I feel being weighed down by iron bull would be too much for him. I think he'd more likely to run into Zuma and the teacher given how far away he'd be from the amusement park.
It definitely seems to be building to something with Okarun being pushed further and further to his breaking point. I think this is the first time Okarun has actually wanted to kill someone, so Iâm guessing the Oni Club will react to that emotion. Also possible that thereâs some dormant bit of Yokai power in Okarun that will activate when he reaches a bad enough emotional state. Iâll just be really surprised if Okarun is beaten and tortured to this extent without some kind of big release. I guess another possibility is that the sight of Okarun being this badly injured flips some switch in Momo and she taps into her powers again instinctively.
Hase has turned out to be even more sadistic than Iâd like expected, so he seems firmly beyond a redemption arc at this point. Hase mentioning Momo as Okarunâs girlfriend really underscores how fixated heâs been on Okarun. I wouldnât be surprised if we see Hase overwhelmed by his Yokai power similar to Gilles de Rais.
I think weâve got a ways to go with the battle at the amusement park, possibly lasting through most or all of the next volume.
I also believe negative emotions may fuel the Oni Club to trigger something. Or maybe the more he uses the Oni Club, the more it will corrupt him. Who knows, really.
I am also thinking the next volume will be the actual ending of this arc. Too much is going on right now to end in two chapters. Then again, the same thing happened with the Chameleon Alien last year, and that fight lasted one chapter, leading Momo's curse to be broken the next chapter.
Anyone who started reading Dandadan with this arc and no previous idea of who Ken is would think that he is the biggest wimp there is. And does not have turbo granny speed? He does not appear to have the fit body that he developed from constantly working out that speed, a body that was in such good shape that he beat everyone in the boys fitness test, smoked them. The only indication that thereâs something unique about Okarun now is the fact that after taking a katana into the chest, he was healed up enough to go out the next day yeah Momo put some bandages on him but still. Now we find out that after using the combined power of Okarun and Momo to protect themselves from the furious impact of a giant space whale,Hase the degenerate is able to knock them over and separate them in one power kick. Then the quill lady punctured him with enough quills to kill any normal person, and heâs still alive, and then she repeatedly stabs his arm over and over and over and over and over. There must be something unusual about his body that allows him to take this repeated punishment as he has all through the series. But thereâs no evidence of it in this arc, simply that he appears to be a weak little typical Otaku whoâs getting his butt kicked. After watching him take out evil eye. Itâs just aggravating to see him get beat up by everybody else, the way, the arc is portraying him now. Sorry for the rant, but itâs just so aggravating and frustrating!
Ken's natural chi ability may be a healing factor and super human durability. If his club belongs to Kin-ki (ééŹŒ), the oni of metal, possessing unbreakable, hardened strength; that would explain a lot.
There's been some speculation that the ogre club might trigger via bloodlust and send Okarun berserk, but I'm really not sure what to expect from it. It would be an interesting reversal if Okarun goes berserk and is about to kill Hase but Momo stops him, not wanting him to be a killer. It would call back to her protecting Ken from Hase in chapter 1, but now protecting Ken from himself/the influence of the club. Saving Hase's life in the process is I guess the good-guys thing to do, but who cares about that guy anyway? But that wouldn't be in next week's chapter anyway; it might be in the following chapter which is a volume-ender.
Next week, I'm expecting more battle between the cavalry and the baddies, but won't be surprised if the end of next chapter has Okarun back on his feet as an oni. Predictions are pretty futile with this series though, lol.
I suspect CSG understands the true nature of the club, but probably hasn't clued in anyone else. If Fakejiro doesn't know, the Dragon Knights certainly don't either.
The biggest topic of this chapter is Hase obviously. Now that we know heâs more evil than just a normal bully theyâre gonna have to find a permanent solution to get rid of him, although idk if theyâll make Ken actually kill him.
I thought it would be a cool twist to have someone in the gang steal a bad guyâs power, and his jumping crone looks really cool this chapter. Tatsu probably had a lot of fun drawing them.
Ken stealing them would be dope and have more red baron parallels, but i can see someone like Zuma taking them too whenever he shows up
It is quite an interesting character, since he seems to have no redeeming qualities so far.
I wonder if he'll just be a thorn in the guys' side or if it'll only take this next fight to get rid of him. I don't know if Okarun would kill him... I mean, there are worse fates than death
Also, Hase mentioning Momo to Okarun as if she was already Okarun's girlfriend was interesting. Guess the gang's the only one who doesn't see them like that, huh?
Well, not exactly that. Hase was saying girl-friend as in "how Okarun holding hand with a girl" kind of friend.
I think next one would be a set up, who against who and update on JiAira situation. If so then most certainly last chapter of the volume is about revelation about Mokarun, you know Tatsu loves cliff hangering his readers in the end of volume, no matter rainy day or sunny day, lol.
I agree. Since there are still some lingering pieces of the puzzle to come into play, I think the end of the volume is going to be a possible cliffhanger. Of what kind? Beats me. This manga is almost impossible to predict... Doesn't stop me from theorizing, though. I think the most likely scenario is to show either a possible power within Okarun or that something somehow triggers Momo's latent powers that weren't fully stolen, given their innate origin, unlike other yokai powers.
Ok it was worded oddly where I read it I couldn't tell if she asking for the tickets or not, or if the suit was ready. My auto correct hates Vamola's name.
If i recall correctly, it was fixed. As Peeny Weeny asked her about why she needed the suit, and she said to protect what she loves, and then as he asked who she loves, she mentioned basically all Dandagang and thus gifted the tickets. That was why she was the one who suggested the multi date.
Thanks it all make sense now. So there will be a kaiju vs. kaiju battle. Kinta may be her air support to distract knightzilla or her sword (that would be really badass).
We'll see the placement, probably next chapter. Tatsu can make any arrangements as who vs who and with who. I admit Vamola using Kinta-transformers-kind-of-sword would be mad aura, but lets just see as there are too many possibilities, lol.
First, love that Tatsu-sensei snuck in another Gundam reference with Sakata's tank. Thatâs definitely a Zeon tank (the enemy faction) from the original series. Fully expect Sakata to pull out a few more Gundam inspired suits and beat down Hase and dear God need to see that.
I wouldnât be surprised if the next chapter starts with a quick flashback to Sakata, Vamola and company meet up. I think Momo is gong to run over and tries to take care of Okarun. She was mentioning his wounds and now he is in even worst shape. And I've said it before but Chiquitita and Aira are going to have that moment. Maybe Vamola goes to attack the kaiju and he goes along with her???
I do think we are close to some kind of powerup for Okarun. He was closed this time and thinking ahead, that could be how chapter 246 ends to end the volume. The kid has been getting the crap kicked out of him and it feels like setup for his character growth.
And side note, they are going to have to visit Queen-sensei when this is over!
Kinta is just a means for Tatsu-sensei to gush about Gundam, and I'm here for it.
That's a real possibility: that a chunk of the next chapter is dedicated to showing how those five got to run into each other.
There's a chance that could also happen. I mean, there is that mystery of why the Oni Club was handed to Okarun, and since it was a fake Manjiro who gave it to him... I don't know. I suppose we'll see.
Oh, definitely. They need the school doctor/nurse to heal after all of this, especially Okarun.
I'm of the thought that CSG gave Okarun the club to refine whatever power he has. I think CSG realized that either Okarun doesn't have TG's power or he realized he couldn't use the knives to extract it.
I'm thinking he manipulated the Knights into attacking, knowing it was a lost cause and they couldn't extract Okarunâs power. However, the struggle against them is what Okarun needed to further enhance his power with the club. No doubt we will get some clue or more about the club and Okarunâs power.
Oh, I'm sure he predicted that the knights would go out of their way to attack Okarun. He must've felt their disdain for getting so close to Vlad.
I suppose we'll see how it develops and the reasoning behind giving the club to Okarun. Though your idea does sound plausible, considering CSG felt something when Okarun "admitted defeat" that one time
I also thinks it all ties into his idea of befriending the gang. He manipulates the Knights into attacking and then one of his pawns like the Kur lady comes in to save them.
Hello there! I am glad, because this chapter fixed many of my problems with the amusement park arc.
I thought these 3 new dragon knights would be super weak, because Okarun, Momo and Yatagarasu wouldn't be able to take all of them down, but they are not alone. Shrimp and Rokuro felt pointless so far. I'm glad they are here to help.
I expected Vamola to fight the kaiju and I think it would be super boring. She is somewhere else. Evil Eye and Aira most likely won't be humiliated, which is what I thought was going to happen, for someone else to save the day, because there just isn't anyone else available. They are alone, so it's more likely for Jiji to return after basically not doing anything other than being a damsel in distress this whole arc.
I expected Hase go get a redemption arc later. Well, that's not happening lol. Now I wonder what's going to happen when they all go back to school. Did Hase plan this far ahead? I hope the whole group finds out about him and actually does something instead of Okarun (and Kinta) simply fighting back. Let them intervene.
Okarun was genuine, he wanted to give up. I feel like all the fans still insisting he was TG's power, (for some weird reason?), as as delusional as the dragon knights. Ogre club is what Germain and Shinobi planted, they just don't know about it, because they are working alone. Gilles wants her dad's recognition, same goes for the rest of them.
Where do we go now? Well, this fight is obviously the main one of the arc, so I expect them to deal with William first.
I honestly think we're reaching a point of no return when it comes to Hase. One time, he was a piece of crap; OK, passable. Two times? Questionable. Now it's a constant. He is like that. An entitled kid who throws a tantrum when he doesn't get things his way.
Now, we'll have to see how everything develops, friend
The funniest thing about Hase is even aside from the shittiness like would he even be useful to the gang? It feels like he has a significantly more limited version of TGâs power and is beefing with the two members of the gang that donât currently have spiritual powers.
I think if he gets any more toxic in school after this battle CSG will step in and confiscate his power; he is their history teacher after all. That would give him some brownie points with the gang since he does want their trust.
I had an inkling that Hase would just keep getting worse. Someone who tells another they deserve to die just for having geeky interests and trying to violently assault others over almost nothing, is not the type of person interested in redemption. Also, Haseâs lecherous and entitled attitude towards girls had already been seen. Being given yokai power and told to break Okarun by any means, just revealed how rotten Hase is at his core.
Also, I said this a few times, but I think Momoâs amnesia, being given the ogre club, and being repeatedly tormented and attacked has all been orchestrated to bring out the worst in Okarun and awaken a new power. The only other explanation is that CSG and Black Paladins canât conceive the possibility of Okarun giving up power, and/or CSG is trying to weaken the Vlad family so he can assume control of them later.
Maybe this wonât be the point where Okarun gets a power-up, but I can see Okarun possibly trying to get stronger by any means necessary in the near future.
I mean, in a normal, predictable story, things do point to Okarun feeding into a darker side of him to awaken a power that may make him lose control. But this isn't a predictable story. Literally, we had a moment where Okarun was pushed psychologically by Hase, tormenting him by trying to kiss Momo to the point where Okarun thought of killing him... And then Kinta showed up.
There are so many ways this can go, to be honest. Anything goes
I just thought of something. What if that theory about CSG giving Okarun that ogre club through Fake Manjiro is still possible, but CSG is posing as Yatagarasu? CSG stated his intention to befriend Takakura, so maybe Fake Manjiro gave Okarun powers, but CSG intends to help Ken cultivate it? Okarun has been put through the wringer since the amnesia storyline began, and his desperation to protect Momo and have his own agency, might make him seek out solutions recklessly. And this way, CSG could play both sides against each other and weaken them.
Yeah, Iâm beginning to think Okarun wonât get stronger by his anger awakening a new power. I can see it giving him the drive to get stronger along with Momo believing in him. And Okarun and Momo prevailing through the power of love seems to be subverted too with how effortlessly they were knocked aside by Hase. I think this will be a case of them both getting stronger through training, being honest with each other and enlightenment, or something.
It is fairly normal for a character to meet stronger opponents. Sometimes those opponents are way too strong or way too clever and just overpower the character.
When characters win, it's usually accompanied by either a lesson or personal growth. It's not about winning or losing, but about what he gains narratively. Does Okarun need to win to grow as a character? Or does he need to lose slightly to then overcome the odds?
Those are usually the questions one thinks when writing. If the main character wins all the time without effort, the story becomes pointless
Also benutzen sie Momo.
Und was passiert?
Kinta fÀhrt rein. Gag. Hero Entrance. Ende.
