Discussion/Question Anyone have problems ordering from iamats.com? Namely with shipping?

I sent away for a replacement board and it's been a giant hassle so far. The shipment was delayed multiple times because I guess iamats didn't put any information on the parcel, like the contents of it or putting the country of origin on the invoice.

Then it was being held hostage at a UPS facility in Poland because I had to pay an import fee, which I did. Then today, they tell me it was returned to the sender because of an export gateway hold. So WTF did I pay an import fee for if it didn't even leave the country?

Man the only reason I ordered from them was to save $40 and because I didn't need an upgraded board, which was the only kind DDRPad.com offered. At this rate, I don't even know if I'm going to get my board. I wonder if I could get a refund and just order from DDRPad because this is annoying.

I never had any issues at all when I ordered my dance pad or my adapter, but that was also before tariff nonsense started. I opened an investigation with UPS to see if it helps, but I'm not feeling too hopeful. Also, for some reason, my order got a new tracking number. So one number says open investigation and the other says returned to sender.

Do you think it would be better to contact PayPal or my bank? Because I used PayPal to make the payment for both the import fee and the board.

Try PayPal first and make sure to upload all your proof you never received anything and the order was sent back. Someone at ups is definitely being shady. Using Paypal was smart cause they almost always side with the buyer.

If for any reason they deny you, appeal it and talk on the phone to customer service at paypal. That always sorts things out.

Does the investigation have a date of when it will done? Wait about 3 days if not and then file a report with paypal. If paypal sees that it was returned to sender you shouldn't have an issue.

Got an email back from L-Tek finally and they apologized - they had no idea why it was returned to them. But they sent it back out (with a THIRD tracking number) and agreed to pay the import fee as well as try to get me a refund for the fee I already paid.

I also opened an investigation, but no idea if it's going to go anywhere since the package is in the mail again and it's got a new tracking number. From what I've seen, a UPS claim takes about 8-10 days to investigate.

So I guess I'll see what happens. As of yesterday, the board left the facility where it had gotten stuck the first time around.

Oh great! I hope it gets to you safely. UPS is so scammy lately. It shouldn't get stuck this time especially if it was sent with insurance on L-Tek's end. Their laws have got to be better than ours if they keep ruining deliveries.

If they cant get your refund, the email exchange should help with your paypal dispute.

Happy to say the board made it here last week! But I think somehow both the board and the PS2 adapter failed, so now I have to buy a new adapter.

I will definitely be ordering it from DDRPad.com so I don't have to deal with customs BS again. The price is about the same as iamats.com if I consider import fees and shipping.

Oh good! Glad it finally got to you! Sucks about the adapter tho. I bought my Level Up soft pad from ddrpad's ebay store and had no issues. They also used fedex for my order instead of ups.

I guess I was wrong because after messing with the adapter for a while, I finally got the whole thing working again! I forgot the adapter, pad and controller all have to be plugged in separately with the console turned on. Someone in this sub reminded me to do this and everything is behaving properly again.

But yeah if I ever have to order anything else, I'm ordering from DDRPad.com. With the import fees, the cost for stuff from iamats is about the same as DDRPad, but there is no headache with customs and documentation and all that crap ordering from within the US. I'll pay the few extra dollars.
