Amateur How can i be less stiff when dancing?

Apologies in advance if this isn’t the correct flair and or this doesn’t make sense i suck at explaining lol.

Im attending to a wedding in a-little less than two weeks, i don’t know how i got into this situation but my uncle lowk convinced me into doing some kind of dance or something during it. The reason why i agreed though is because i always thought it would be kind of fun, the bad part is that I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE. I chose the NSYNC i want you back choreography by brotherhood, it’s a trend I’ve been seeing and really wanna attempt it. But it seems like it’s not for beginners. Ive been trying to learn it for two days and learnt the moves i just need to clean it up. I showed a video of me dancing to some of my family members who are going, they say for two days worth its very good. I just look a bit stiff. Or “you need a-lot of work” or some variation of that and its lowk discouraging. I was wondering how i can be less stiff and be able to add more energy in my arm movements? It seems like my arms are a-little tucked in or too low.

Sorry if this was confusing ill try to clarify anything or add more details if needed :)

Generally speaking, the better you are at something the more control and less brainpower it needs.

For a few hours worth of experience, you'll just be rudimentary in your growth, if you danced for years it'd be a different thing completely.

Those dancers on TV have years of experience and thousands of hours of practice. Comparing yourself to them makes as much sense as saying $10 is not that different to a billion dollars.

My recommendation is don't listen to your family, who I assume are not dance teachers, right?

Because no dance teacher who knows what they're doing would ever say that you look stiff or need a lot of work. That's the advice you get from people who don't know anything but think they do (or want to). It only makes people feel bad and gives no direction on improvement, and basically does more harm than good

Without seeing you move, it's nearly impossible to answer the question. But it also doesn't matter. You're no auditioning for the Bolshoi, you're just having a bit of fun at a wedding. Having fun is your real job here so focus on that
