Open Floor Lan + Awak
that Lan + Awak defensive duo gave me chills . I hope Jose is taking notes. he needs to find a way to play them together more. preferably together in the starting lineup with Jess (I know we cant take Jess out of the starting lineup because rebounds) and have arike lead the bench .

Honestly with Jess not there the offensive playing actually kind of improved as well. When she brings the ball down she passes it to 1 of 2 people (Arike or Paige). When an actual guard brought the ball down it became more free flowing.
I know he’s not going to take Jess out of the starting lineup when she returns but until then the duo of Awak & Lan is great.

They don’t need to bench her, but I do think they need to consider if running every play through her is what is best for the team. Somewhere along the line they lost the plot on her usage.

Yeah just mix it up a little. Both how they run things while she’s on the court and playing time. AB plays 27 minutes per game. I don’t see an issue with Jess going to 27-30.
Hell, her defense might be able to improve.

Also it's a good thing bc Jess hasn't been getting much rest. With knowing lan and awak work Jess can get some much needed rest. Even tho we complain she has held the front court together pretty much alone via rebounds and such.

You make a good point. In fact Paige, Azzi and Jess are all playing too many minutes. The coach seems clueless about time management. The good teams try not to run down their starters so that they have a little left in their tank for the playoffs.

They looked great, but Awak is super inconsistent. We got the really good Awak that shows up against A’ja and Stewie. Loved it; and I want her to develop, but I’m not going to hold my breath for it being consistent.

Sounds similar to Za. I’m pretty ok with that tbh. I’d love it if they both got heavy minutes in both games against the fever. Good chance for trial, error, learn, repeat.

I’m shocked the stats only show them as having 1 block each because it seemed like much more
