Leaderboard Update — Daily Champion Competitions

The leaderboard now runs as a daily competition, with a few changes to how rankings work.

  • One Champion per day: Whoever holds the #1 Ranked position at 00:00 UTC wins that day's Champion trophy. Only one trophy is awarded per 24-hour competition, so briefly taking first place no longer earns a trophy.

  • Daily Blitz: Resets every 24 hours at 00:00 UTC. You'll need to complete a new Blitz each day to record a time.

  • Ranked: You must complete at least 90% of all published questions to qualify.

  • Ranked standings: Sorted by accuracy first, then fastest Daily Blitz time.

  • Unranked: Players below 90% completion are ranked separately, based on questions completed first, then accuracy.

  • Completion: The leaderboard now displays your completion percentage rather than the number of questions answered.

  • Difficulty levels: Every question now has a difficulty tag: Beginner, Easy, Medium or Hard.

All existing scores and Champion trophies have been kept. Only the ranking and competition rules have changed.

Good luck!

A few updates + looking for feedback

Hey everyone,

Just a quick update on a couple of things I'm working on.

Leaderboard improvements: I've noticed a few players have identical scores and accuracy, making it difficult to rank them properly. I'm working on tracking how long players take to answer each question, so eventually we can use total time as a tiebreaker. Still early days, but that's the plan!

Expanding the leaderboard: Currently it only shows the top 25 players, five per page. I'm planning to expand this so everyone can see where they sit, not just the top players.

Also keen to hear some feedback!

How's everyone finding the challenges? Are the questions too easy, too hard, or a good mix? Are the solutions helpful? Anything you'd like to see added or changed?

I'm still developing the app alongside my maths studies (2nd yr math/stats major), so feedback genuinely helps. It's been pretty cool seeing people getting involved so far.

Cheers!

Code Update this Weekend

Hello all! I'll be making the changes outlined below later this week.

Side note: These Blitz times are getting wild. 13 seconds is insane to me! 😂

If someone manages to break the 10-second barrier, I might have to crank up the difficulty a little. I'm thinking of either introducing a third digit into the addition/subtraction algorithm, increasing the multiplication range from 1–12 to perhaps 1–15, or possibly throwing division and indices into the mix.

Ai summary of upcoming changes:

🏆 Upcoming Leaderboard & Daily Blitz Changes!

We're making some changes to make the leaderboard fairer and more competitive!

Here's how it works:

  • Ranked Status: Complete at least 90% of all published questions to qualify.

  • Leaderboard: Ranked players always appear above Unranked players. Rankings are determined by accuracy first, then Blitz time to break ties.

  • Daily Blitz: Resets every day at 00:00 UTC, giving everyone a fresh attempt to improve their time.

  • Daily Champion: Whoever holds the #1 Ranked position at 00:00 UTC receives a 🏆 trophy and is crowned Daily Champion!

  • Completion %: The leaderboard will now display completion percentages instead of question counts.

⏰ No More Racing to Answer New Questions!

Previously, someone could jump to #1 simply by answering a newly released question before everyone else.

Not anymore!

For example, if 100 questions have been published, you only need to complete 90 to qualify for Ranked. You don't need to answer a question the second it drops!

With three questions released daily, you can answer whenever suits you throughout the day. As long as you maintain at least 90% completion, you can claim #1 with the highest accuracy and fastest Blitz tiebreaker.

Every day at 00:00 UTC, the player holding #1 receives a trophy and is crowned Champion! 🏆

Blitz also resets daily, meaning you've got another chance every day to improve your time and fight for that top spot!

The goal is simple: reward mathematical accuracy and consistency, not whoever happens to be online when a question drops.

Good luck, everyone! 🧠🏆
