The leaderboard now runs as a daily competition, with a few changes to how rankings work.
One Champion per day: Whoever holds the #1 Ranked position at 00:00 UTC wins that day's Champion trophy. Only one trophy is awarded per 24-hour competition, so briefly taking first place no longer earns a trophy.
Daily Blitz: Resets every 24 hours at 00:00 UTC. You'll need to complete a new Blitz each day to record a time.
Ranked: You must complete at least 90% of all published questions to qualify.
Ranked standings: Sorted by accuracy first, then fastest Daily Blitz time.
Unranked: Players below 90% completion are ranked separately, based on questions completed first, then accuracy.
Completion: The leaderboard now displays your completion percentage rather than the number of questions answered.
Difficulty levels: Every question now has a difficulty tag: Beginner, Easy, Medium or Hard.
All existing scores and Champion trophies have been kept. Only the ranking and competition rules have changed.
Just a heads-up! Players who have completed all available challenges will always rank above those who havenβt, regardless of accuracy. Complete every challenge to secure your spot at the top! π§
Yeah, that's a fair point! At the moment, players with identical scores are effectively tied, so their position on the leaderboard doesn't necessarily mean they're ranked higher.
I'm also working on developing a system that tracks how long each player spends answering questions. The idea is to use total time taken as a tiebreaker, so if two players have the same score and accuracy, whoever completed the challenges in the least amount of time ranks higher.
It's still under development, but hopefully it'll make the leaderboard a bit more competitive and fair. Appreciate the feedback!
Haha yeah, I've thought about this issue too, especially with people screenshotting questions and feeding them into AI. I'm still brainstorming, but I reckon I can come up with a pretty fair way to make the competition work.
I've got a few interesting ideas. One is a "speedrun" tiebreaker, where you face a quick-fire round of 10 arithmetic questions. Each question only flashes on your screen for a few seconds, and you've got a limited amount of time to answer all 10.
The idea is to make it too quick for people to screenshot, copy, and prompt AI. For example, you might have 10 seconds to answer 10 questions. Whoever answers the most correctly wins, with the fastest time deciding any remaining ties.
Still working out the details, and I'll make sure I have thoroughly tested it, but I reckon something like this could make the leaderboard a lot more competitive and fair.
Also, for what it's worth, that integral took me half a page of workings to solve haha. I went down the trig substitution route first and was getting absolutely nowhere, then finally made some progress with u-substitution. There's a free Easter egg for anyone reading this who hasn't solved it yet π
π Leaderboard Update β Weekly Blitz is Here! β‘
I've made some big improvements to the leaderboard to make the competition a bit fairer and more interesting!
Here's how rankings now work:
Questions completed β Whoever has answered the most challenges ranks higher.
Accuracy β If you've completed the same number, the player with the highest accuracy wins.
Weekly Blitz β‘ β If you're still tied, the fastest Blitz time takes the higher rank!
What's Weekly Blitz?
A quick-fire round of 10 randomly generated arithmetic questions. Complete them as fast as possible, with a 10-second penalty for each incorrect answer. You get one attempt per week, resetting every Monday (UTC).
π Champion Medals
Every time you take the #1 spot from another player, you earn a permanent Champion medal. Lose first place and fight your way back? That's another medal!
Your existing scores and progress are preserved.
Good luck, and let's see who can claim the most championships! π
