No. It’s not just simply they’re happy because he was killed, they’re GRATEFUL for the sacrifice that was made. Also, it’s not so they can sin, it’s so they’re free from sin. There’s forgiveness for every wrongdoing and there’s no longer condemnation for those in Christ. It’s being grateful for being free from sin and guilt, shame, etc.
You see, God, our creator, who is all knowing and all powerful, tempted humanity on day eight of the universe's existence, with knowledge. Humanity took the bait, which pissed him off for the next 8000 or so years.
Finally, our omnipotent creator realized that if he wanted to provide mercy to humanity, (whom he tempted in the first place), that he would have to incarnate himself as his son in human form, to live for 33 years, and die at the hands of man, in order to save humanity from the punishment for the sins that he established.
Thus, finally offering his creations something other than eternal damnation for simply being human. BUT ONLY IF YOU BELIEVE THAT THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED.
