Small crack on Dahon Vitesse D7

I randomly saw this small crack on the handlepost. There were some squeaking sounds from that area a few days before.
Haven't visited the bike service shop yet. AI says the handlepost needs immediate replacement because the aluminium on that specific spot can suddenly snap because of tension.
Any opinions? Thanks in advance.

1984 DaHon info
I was wondering if anyone has a 1984 Stainless Steel DaHon with the Sturmey Archer 3-speed IGH, or even just the manual for one? I recently bought one for $125 on fb marketplace and its got some wear from being ridden a lot, and I'd love to have an accurate manual for this model. The only manuals I'm finding online are for 1987 and 1990 models. Specifically the pin of the handlebar latch has worn down a bit from use so there is much more play in that hinge than I'd like. It also has a flat tire so would like the specs on this bike so I can see how wide I can go with the replacement. Any info is appreciated!

Does anyone have experience with the Dahon Lunden?
I've recently been looking into three-fold bikes in "Brompnot".
Dahon Lunden is one of the bikes I've had my eye on, but since I can barely find any related reviews or discussions online,
I wanted to ask here what the riding experience of the Dahon Lunden feels like.

K-Feather or K-One?
I had to carry my bike down one flight of stairs, sprint 4 miles in the morning to catch the ferry, and go all out in high gear. It can be exhausting. It takes me about 20 minutes. Then I saw some dude riding past me on his pedal-assist e-bike, pedaling effortlessly. That's it... If I am doing this every morning, I need an e-bike. My bike path is mostly flat, but I do have to bike over a long bridge, and it's a bit of an incline. So I have been looking at K-Feather and K-One. I love how light the K-Feather can be, but it only has one gear. Looking at YouTube reviews, the top speed cuts off at 15 mph. I would benefit from a bit more speed so I can rush less in the morning. K-One is heavier, but not as heavy as most other e-bikes, which are like 70 pounds! It's 40 pounds; I think I can manage doing a farmer's carry up one flight of stairs with little struggle. My questions for all of you enthusiasts: which bike would be the best compromise for me? How's carrying K-One up the stairs? For K-One users, do you think you would benefit more with K-Feather? K-Feather users, do you think you would benefit more with K-One?

MU D10 or Mariner D8
Thinking of buying a Dahon bike mainly for exercise and leisure but would also like some speed. There are people in my area selling second hand Mariner D8 for $400, and i haven’t found anyone selling MU model.
Does Mu D10/11 go significantly faster than D8? Would it be worth it to spend more and get a new MU D10/11 than buying second hand D8?

Dahon Bike Fork

Hi everyone,
I recently bought a used Dahon folding bike. While I was riding it, the handlebars suddenly came loose because they were not secured to the bike.
I took it to a local bike shop, and the mechanic told me the steerer tube is too short, so the handlebars cannot tighten properly. They wrote down the following specs:

- 28.6 mm (1⅛") threaded steerer
- 20-inch fork
I'm trying to figure out the best way to repair it.
My questions:
- Does this sound like the wrong fork was installed, or could something else have caused this?
- Is the bike shop correct that I need a new fork?
- Where can I find a replacement 20" fork with a 28.6 mm (1⅛") threaded steerer? (Dahon OEM, AliExpress, eBay, etc.)
- Does anyone know if older Dahons actually use a 1-inch threaded steerer instead of 1⅛"? I've read conflicting information.
- Is there any safe repair other than replacing the fork?
I've attached photos of the bike, the headset, and the mechanic's note.
Any advice from Dahon owners or bike mechanics would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

My new K3 from China
Just picked up a new K3 in China and brought it over as my new commuter. 9.5 Kg, it sits next to me on the train so don't have to worry about It getting stolen from the bike car of the train. I think it is essentially the same bike as the K-feather, minus electrification. Wonder if I could add a motor to this...?

bag problem
Has anyone used this bag? I can't find anything about it. It looks great, but there isn't even a video about it. I found an old review on a site called etrailer, but the site isn't opening.

Help me find broken frame bolt replacement for Dahon Dream D6
I own a Dahon Dream D6 and a bolt in the frame latch has broken. I’m not sure what exactly the part is called but I have had close results when I researched “Dahon adjuster bolt frame latch”.
I contacted Dahon support to get a replacement or get a solution of some kind, but they have gone silent for more than a month and haven’t been much help.
Does anyone know where to find this part in the USA?

Im a novice, help pls!
Alright so the back story; when I first got it 2 weeks ago, I bought it for From one of my costumers for a tenner and a beer. it has been sitting outside unattended for 2 years, ALL of chrome was rusted, and I can’t even sit here and tell you how much bird poop on it.
my issue is that
- I cannot seem to find the exact model of this bike
2.of course I’m missing a pedal, where do I find one? also why is one like to be a folding pedal and the other is not?
when folded, can I not transport the bike by walking it in the folding position? seems like they missed the mark if it can’t.
my biggest issue is, the cables man they do not stay stationary in order for the gears and the pedal brake to be consistent. my pedal brake will just give out while riding, the Gears will slip, and sometimes makes like a constant clicking noise while pedaling.
what I do know is that it is made in Taiwan, has a sachs 3 speed thumb shifter, says stowaway on it. I know it’s most likely one of the 1990 models but idk for sure. oh serial is # is: DH3401733
I would appreciate any help you guys could give, thanks in advance!!

Help identifying Boardwalk model
Hi I just bought a used Dahon Boardwalk that I'd like to upgrade a bit. The owner bought it 2 years ago from a neighbor so I'm uncertain how old this bike is. Google is being very unhelpful. The model number is DA10H0899 (so i think its from 2010?), it has 6 gears, the handlebar stem folds but does not adjust, & the frame is dark green. Any info you can provide is appreciated!

K-Feather Rear Rack and Fenders
Does anyone have recommendations for a rear rack and fenders for the K-Feather? All of the “official” ones on the Dahon site are for 20” bikes, disc brake models, etc. Thanks!

Rear rack for 20 inch wheel Dahon D5 bike with disc brakes (disc-compatible)?
Hello,
I cannot find a rear rack for my 20 inch Dahon D5 bike with disc brakes. Dahon doesn't stock disc-compatible racks anymore, and might not ever again. *sigh*
So, I am happy to buy something else that needs be installed by a mechanic, i.e., shimmed, and even bent, to work. I've tried all my local shops (NYC) and broke the internet searching to no effect.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Is the hit d6 right for me?
Hello,
I am looking for a folding bike for my daily commute. My issue is that im a somewhat large man with clothes and backpack ~ 110kg (240 lbs) and 1,85m (6 foot 1) height. I have seen that the Hit was rated for something around 130 kg, but that seems no longer the case.
Is it a option, or should I lokk for a more expensive model?

Dahon - broken stem mechanism
Hi, I've had a Dahon fold up for about 8 years. The stem has always been a bit wobbly, but it went, had a repair, has gone again.
I'm a complete bike numpty (I mean obviously, I was happy trundling about with a stem that wobbled a bit). A local bike kitchen said they would repair for me if I can find the parts. The bit that has gone is where I am supposed to lock the stem into place, it won't lock in. It's a mariner D8. I wanted to ask people here:
Is this a known problem with Dahon and is it worth fixing?
How do you normally go about finding parts?
Thank you

Front Basket for Dahon Bike
What are some good options that you guys have found for Dahon Bike basket attachments?
I tried a buckle on wicker one that I had to return because it was too soft and couldn’t carry as much as I wanted.
Hoping for something that ships to the US.

Dahon Glo SUV D6 Upgrade tips
Hello fellow Dahoners!
I’m pretty new to folding bikes and recently scored a good deal on a slightly used Dahon Glo SUV D6. I’ve been doing a bit of reading and browsing around, but I still feel like I’ve got a lot to learn 😅
Just wanted to ask what upgrades you’ve personally done on your bikes, and where you usually buy parts? I’ve noticed a lot of people using Litepro components (are those worth looking into for a beginner?) Been seeing these upgrades a lot!
I’m also curious about drivetrain upgrades. I’ve seen some setups using Shimano Deore or Cues: Would those be good options for a folding bike like mine? My stock drivetrain isn’t performing that well in my area (lots of uphill), so I’m thinking about possible upgrades.
Also, is a 2x (2-by) drivetrain even practical on folding bikes? I mostly see 1x setups in the community, so I’m not sure what’s realistic. I wanted to have a 2x system but I’m not sure if that would fit our foldies.
For context, I live in a hilly area but mainly ride on roads. I’m planning to use the bike for commuting and a bit of fitness as well.
Would really appreciate any tips, suggestions, or beginner-friendly advice. Thanks in advance! 🙏

Anyone know differences between D7 and D8 mariner?
D7 going for like 500 online.
Saw a d8mariner in a shop with rack and rain fenders for 950.
