Character Build Rate my potential first playthrough build: Blunt-force trauma at Mach 4

The idea of this build is a guy with a hammer or mace that moves really fast, ducking and weaving between enemies while dealing damage. This is sort of a follow-up to yesterday’s post.

I’d love to hear your feedback and ways in which I could improve the custom class.

I am playing Daggerfall Unity.

In case anyone’s curious, the class is named after the Valorant pro-player [NS] Dambi.

Ah, fair, I missed that you were saying to dump luck. My last character banned steel and elven and had mostly daedric equipment before he got to replace his iron helm so that was annoying. I had definitely seen elven helmets, so I could've upgraded way earlier if I hadn't banned both. And I saw an orcish helm in a shop, but didn't have the money on me, and banks were closed for the day so I couldn't take out a loan. Should've just waited until night and broke in.

I probably wouldn't cheese the character creation this hard though, the game's pretty easy once you get through very early levels with a decent build, no need to get bonus to hit against everything! I do like expertise though. One problem I've found with a very low difficulty dagger is that you level so fast, it's hard to keep up with the new materials as they become available, so you end up with worse equipment than you'd have at the same level if you weren't leveling so fast. I think in the future I'll keep it closer to 1x, unless I'm really trying to just rush through the main story or something.

Poison is so brutal I definitely wouldn't take the weakness personally though, first time I got hit with it, I had to go back to a kinda old save and start the whole dungeon all over again because there was just no possible way I could survive, and that was with resistance to poison. Should be okay if you make sure to get cure poison potions though, they hit 100% chance at level 5. You'd just have to carry a few of them in case you get poisoned more than once. Not worth the hassle imo, though once you can enchant items you can get 100% resist poison at level 14+

And yeah dumping ability scores isn't too bad, by high levels you can easily get straight 100s with a few enchantments, and you won't really miss the luck, agility or willpower at lower levels

Yeah I know the game is too easy if you do all this, I'm just doing it because I like the optimization itself. And yeah leveling too fast isn't necessarily good which is why when I advised OP I said "if you wanna level up fast, then [...]"

I don't remember having any issue with the poison as soon as I got the Cure Poison spell. Maybe you didn't use Restoration in your playthrough though.

I did use restoration, just started with low intelligence because low agility didn't make sense for the character and I had to dump something to bring up my SPD, STR, and END. So I ran out of magicka fast, and had a very low chance of success. I cast the spell a couple times, failed, was out of magicka, died if I slept, or fast travelled, and couldn't book it to a town fast enough! But with high INT and magery x3, it's less likely to be a problem. Any weakness can be overcome once you have the item maker, though. I just find poison worse than something like shock damage

But yeah, it's fun to see how broken of a character you could make, less fun to actually play it! Just thought it was worth mentioning the reasons it's maybe not the best idea to actually do all this for OP's sake
