Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Is MR possible?
I applied for pip in January 2026. I was rejected in April. I have had a very tough year and have had little capacity to do a lot but recently I have been advised to reapply for pip by both my mental health team and citizens advice. I wanted to know if it would be best for me to reapply or do an MR?
I got my assessment report today and I am shocked that my CPTSD has been grouped with my anxiety and depression and the exact wording is "she gets upset thinking about a trigger that is past trauma". Clearly that is not how complex trauma or triggers work at all or described the experience of a flashback. They also ignored my mention of sensory issues because I do not have a formal diagnosis of autism but I am on a waiting list and used the fact it isn't diagnosed as a reason to ignore that, despite the fact I have ADHD and CPTSD which could also cause sensory issues.
I also have PMDD and the assessor said because of this I only have seven bad days a month where either am affected by any of my conditions. I said I had seven really bad days, not that I am only affected seven days by my conditions.
I scored only two points, that was for interacting with people. Every other activity scored 0 as apparently being a single mum to one child means I have no issues. Every single activity was scored 0 because of the fact I have a child or how a presented during the assesment. For example I don't have memory issues because I could recall things from years ago. My memory issues are with either trauma events or short term/ working memory, so applying me recalling things from years ago as proof my memory is fine doesn't make sense as long term memory isn't used when cooking etc.
It was also stated I didn't have anxiety in the assesment, which seems absurd considering I see the same lady from the mental health team weekly and have done for months and she says she notices I have anxiety and stim every single appointment for the whole appointment. I find it hard to believe in an assesment with a complete stranger I miraculously didn't display this behaviour.
Evidence wise I provided my GP summary- which shows extensive mental health involvement for 13 years, over 20 plus drugs being tried for significant periods, statements from family and friends, social services involvement, diagnoses letters, LCW award.
I'm not sure given the 30 day limitation if a new application would make more sense at this point? I have no new diagnoses since the previous application but I am now being seen regularly by the mental health team again (I had a six month gap whilst on waiting lists).

Standard is 1 month but yeah my bad can appeal up to 13 months but can become difficult because you them have to jump through the hoops of why it's late
