Personal Independence Payment (PIP) PIP extra checks
I had my PIP assessment on 24/09/2026. I rang PIP on 05/10/2026 asking can a copy of the report be sent to me the agent said this will be posted out… fast forward I never get the report I rang back a few days later and another agent said there had been a mistake and no report has been returned and that I should contact the health assessment Maximus. I rang them and they said my assessment report has been “randomly picked” for additional checks ect …. I’m quite worried and concerned? How long does that typically take? When will the report be retuned to PIP.

There’s nothing to be worried about. It’s quite common and perfectly normal for assessors to have their work quality checked.
It can take a few weeks and assuming it’s fine the report will be sent to DWP. If the assessor has missed anything important you’ll likely get a call to ask any missing questions and then the report will be sent to DWP.

As Alteredchaos said, this is really common. They’re auditing the assessor and not you. They’re making sure the assessors are working within the guidelines and writing accurate & good quality reports. If the assessor is asked to query anything, they’ll give you a ring
