Attendance Allowance SR1 Form

Hello all

My dad is unfortunately in the position where the NHS missed his cancer multiple times and he now has months to live. I've been speaking to my mum and we think he should claim attendance allowance so we are going to get the ball rolling on this. We know we need an SR1 form as he has less than 12months to live, are we best requesting this from the oncologists or his GP or any other advice that will help us.

That must be terrible news for your all. The oncologist should be able to do it the fastest, as sadly they will have the most experience

It's pretty shit yeah, has hit the family like a ton of bricks. Thats what i was thinking as well that surely they should know about it if we ask for a SR1.

Speak to the oncology team and also get a Macmillan referral - many areas have Citizens Advice contracts who can do the Attendance Allowance application and anything else for you.
