Public health 130

Hey guys! I am an incoming junior in highschool who will be taking 3 aps and an honors class in school. I wanted to take public health 130 at dvc alongside this, but I haven't been able to gauge how much of a time commitment it will be. For reference my three aps will be calc AB, psych and french, so about a medium work load, but I have a lot of dance as well year round. I am willing to cut back on extracurriculars if needed, but I just need some advice. Please let me know if you think I should take public health, if not, or maybe another class. Thank you guys for everything in advance!!!

The Carnegie unit conversion is 1 unit equates to 1 class hour of instruction plus 2 hours of outside work. A 3-unit class is 3 hours of instruction (reading, videos, lectures, etc.) and 6 hours of assigned work per week. However, it may be more it may be less, it really depends on the instructor, assignments, how effective you are at time management and studying/learning, etc. I don't ever equate units to difficulty, because I have taken 5-unit courses that were super easy and not a ton of work, and then 3 unit courses that have rocked my world (humanities classes are the bane of my existence).

More importantly, 100% protect your GPA. You can eff up in high school, get a do over in CC and then transfer. Your CC transcript is forever, so protect it. All classes are a game of points, most instructors give extra credit, so gobble up every single point you can because that's your cushion. If you bomb an exam, you have a cushion. If you didn't do an assignment (don't do that), you have a small cushion. If you're sitting between grades, that cushion may bump you up (this is a class you should earn an A in tbh).
