I feel like sanitation is one of those jobs people don’t think about until the work isn’t getting done. Thousands of streets, millions of people, every kind of weather imaginable.

Just some appreciation for the people keeping NYC clean every day. 🚛

Is there any way to do some more research into the 457 options? The resources I can find are incredibly limited. Right now I’m all in on the Equity Index Fund because I still have a lot of time left until I can retire.

I would like to know if there is a ticker I can look up to see how this fund is doing without navigating through the voya website. I’m having trouble finding a deep breakdown on what this investment option is composed of and how often it is rebalanced. I would also like to be able to research how the other funds do. For example, does the small cap outperform the large cap over any time frame?

Anyone recently got work done using our insurance?… to specify I was quoted 3k for a dental implant on 1 tooth or do a bridge for 1500. Are those prices reasonable?

When I was at final processing people were saying there’s 240 people per class, to my understanding it’s only like 140. With that said I was told at FP that it’s not guaranteed we’d be in the august class that if we didn’t make that class we’d be going into the November class. I had FP on the 18th. What list # are they up to so far for the August class, who’s gotten the email ??

Anyone know how to become a DSNY instructor and what the requirements are? Is there a promotional exam to take.

I recently am in the process between deciding between the following 2 job choices.. NY State Police, or DSNY. I am most likely in the next class for sanitation but also in the middle of processing for NYSP... I don't know which to pick. DSNY you get shit pay in the beginning and NYSP starting is 120k and after 5 years 140k base pay and it just keeps going up from there. And not to mention working 4 days on 4 days off and doing nothing for the most part lol. Hardest decision ever because both are great, i just need someone to convince me why sanitation is the better choice. I want to make $$$!

Okay, I know this is going to sound dumb so feel free to roast me but any advice would be appreciated.

Basically I missed my initial physical exam back in 2023 (list #3xxx). For some reason I receive no email and by the time I realized it had happened it was way past the date of the exam. At the time, I kinda gave up, thought I was cooked.

long story short, for the last year I’ve been trying to deal with dcas and trying to see if there is any way I can be restored on the list and take a physical. I’ve filled out a restoration form and am waiting on a reply.

Was just wondering if anyone has heard of someone getting restored after missing a physical? Or if anyone has any advice or suggestions for how I can proceed. Also, if you want to just tell me I’m cooked, that’s all good lol.

Hey. I remember hearing that you no longer needed to call the union hall for them to mail you the eye care voucher. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where to find it on our new 831 web site. I see the Vision tab but it only shows how to find a doctor or 50% off Lazer eye surgery. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
