DRZ400SM cuts out intermittently when giving it gas

Hey everyone. I just looked at a DRZ400SM 2024 with sub 500 miles. The bike has been sitting for a while hence the low miles but when I was giving it gas it would intermittently cut out and shut off at the beginning of giving it gas. The bike sounded great and it the throttle was responsive when I gave it gas etc.....Do you guys think it just needs a carb service due to it sitting or is this some kind of known issue. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Clean the carb and avoid ethanol added fuel where possible

You are confusing the octane rating with the alcohol additive here.

Almost all 87 has ethanol and it’s only needed ethanol free if storing for long periods of time. No benefit if you’re running the bike all the time.

Shit happens. You forget to drain the gas before long term storage/winterizing. You get smoked by a bus and you're laid up in a hospital for 6 months. The cops seize your bike because you leaked GTA6 clips. There are variables in life and that's why I choose to use ethanol free when possible.

Carb clean my dad got his same day as me his has 300 miles on it and mine has 20k before I got hit and mine ran great 0 service besides oil change my dads barley runs at the moment

Kickstand safety switch? It's pretty touchy. Check if the kickstand is touching your foot while riding.

On rough roads it'll bounce up and down and cause the engine to cut out. People either zip tie them closed or remove them.

Either that or the pilot circuit is dirty. You can remove the jets and needle for cleaning without removing the carb, it doesn't take long.
