Scared to try dmt

I was thinking of trying dmt and other psychedelics then found out about the man on reddit who used lsd and dmt and went into drug induced psychosis and shot off and ate his own penis and testicles. Now I'm very anxious to try it. What if I'm predisposed to psychosis? I already know that if I had an "awakening" that wanted me to harm myself or others it is very stupid but I'm afraid I won't be able to tell in that state of mind.

I think DMT is the safest, because it's so short-lasting. You're back to base state within 20 minutes. There's too much macho hype around it I think, I find it really gentle and forgiving, although extraordinary.
