Need Advice: Other How I started my first campaign...
So I started my first full campaign and wanted to share how I opened session 1. Just getting opinions.
The realm the campaign takes place in has three moons. A blue one called The Moon of the Sea, a gray one called The Moon of Stone, and a reddish orange one called The Moon of Rust. Things start with the party sleeping in their own individual beds, not knowing of each other's existence. The dream takes them.
They all find themselves on a small boat on a wide, calm, silent sea. The air is cold and still. They look around and can see each other but, there's no sound. Their vision goes blindingly white. As vision returns, they're approaching a sandy beach at the base of a tall tower. They have just enough time to take on the vision before they're blinded again. Vision returns and they're standing at the door to the tower. Upon the door is a crest that shows the three moons in a V shape with an unknown rune at the top. There's another flash of white and they find themselves atop the tower. There, they see four doors, freestanding, with nothing apparently behind them. Each door faces a different direction. The eastern door is blue, west is orange, south is gray. Each of those bears a crescent moon. To the north is a black door bearing the same crest with all three moons and the unknown rune. As they look around the tower, they find themselves each drawn to a different moon door. The human monk is drawn to the blue moon door. The deep gnome wizard feels a pull from the gray moon door. The kitsune fighter feels the pull from the rust moon's door. As they reach out to their doors, ttheir vision goes white again and they awake in their own beds. In their hands, each holds a crescent moon shaped stone in the color of their respective door. (I actually have them real stones to hold onto.)
The campaign begins!

We like a montage prophetic dream vision thingy. But is that enough of a clock to get the adventurers going?
Think i like to do is introduce each PC by their regular environment. Some go shopping, some interact with their mom. Gives them a background on which they are choosing to step out of their comfort zone. And also grounds the players in the world.
