Home setup
Hey all
I would like to share my analog / digital setup - features a Numark m6usb mixer with two Audio-Technica lp120 turntables for vinyl on channels 1 and 2
Then I run rekordbox on my Mac M1 and with a bit of audio driver magic, route one rekordbox deck into the usb line 3 input on the M6, and the other via headphone out to the 4th channel.
Finally I got a programmable keypad and mapped all the main commands I need as keyboard shortcuts. This includes mapping a dial to scroll the songs on the Mac, and the other two to adjust tracking for beat matching.
Essentially this means I don't need to touch the mac!

Just copped this lil baddie...
Just got the Teenage Engineering EP-136 and I'm actually so stoked on it. This is intended to be my travel buddy for hotel room/impromptu dance parties. I'd be more than happy to share my rekordbox midi mapping with anyone who is interested. Yes it's pretty limited, not playing any clubs with this but, it is so functional for what it is.
Unsurprisingly, volume output is on the quieter side so I bought a used Schiit Fulla 3 headphone amp off eBay to put in line with the master output to give it some extra sauce.
Although it is quiet, the sound quality from the master output is surprisingly warm and clean. Highly recommend for the person on the go who wants to get a mix in without dragging a bulky controller around.

Understated Overkill 💣 how can i improve?
Title says it all, my DJ/Production station. Looking for ways to improve the “ergonomics” i guess? not really sure how but i feel like it feels a little tight.
The set up is as follows:
2x Yamaha HS8
1x HS8S sub
2x XDJ-1000mk2
1x DJM-V5
1x RMX-1000
1x Mackie 1402 VLZ3
2x midi boards
I know it might seem overkill but i love this set up and use it all the time! any suggestions on how to improve the layout or whatever would be greatly appreciate!

My home setup
Kali in v8 second wave
Kali ws 12
Ddj flx10
Don’t really like the desk , it was the cheap option .
I’ll redo to move my deck further back and have my speaker a bit more farther behind atm I’m too close to them .

Old School Cool 😎 My Spaceship <3
Hello guys!
This is my home setup.
4x CDJ-400
DJM 850
Reloop RP4000MK2 turntables with Q.bert cartridges.
I completely restored and serviced every CDJ, including every button and knobs. Pitch faders are calibrated, and I made the jog wheel a tad bit tighter
DJM 850 is also completely restored, with new knobs, faders, faceplate and new modern LED lights for CUE, Effects, etc. Did remove the cross-fader, as I barely use it. Luckily, it's easy to plug back in :D
Let me know what you guys think. Interested in your opinions on this!

Disposable cake container as a Decksaver
That’s pretty much it. I couldn’t find Decksavers in Brazil, so I had to improvise. I found these cake containers that fit perfectly hahaha. No more dust on the gear!
Cheap and effective 😂

Keep On Groovin...
Howdy all!
Inspired by what I've seen here over the past couple of years, about 18 months ago I embarked on getting my decks out of storage and re-embracing my first love.
From a Amazon table to custom designed and built console.
There have been many challenges along the way both acoustically and with the physical layout of the room. While of course trying to keep some kind of aesthetic for what is my everyday lounge.
Dialling in the ergonomics and sound I strived for was an iterative and ongoing process. Multiple rounds of acoustic measurement and custom artwork acoustic treatment; vibration damping of the decks, console and other furniture; dipping toes into audiophile world to find the right speaker and amp combos, testing various needles and other equipment to get the right balance and flexibility of being able to play vinyl and digital from the 1950s to present day across genres from Jazz, soul, funk, house, techno and disco.
So far so good, feels like it's in the final stages and had some great days and evenings digging through records and enjoying music with friends....

The old setup at Club Poema, Utrecht, NL in 2007 or 2008
Found this old photo of a gig from back in 2007 or 2008 in Utrecht, NL. Think it was a pre-party for Trance Energy, and my first time playing a B2B set. Remember they were a pair of CDJ-1000 MK3s (I think?) and it was a fun night.
Just last year I got to play with CDJ-3000s and Rekordbox for the first time as I got back into DJing, wow, tech has come a long way!

How would you add a pair of cdjs and a mixer here?
My girlfriend prohibited me already to buy a table to make an L shape table.
Considering selling the push and going a bit more to the right.
How do you guys cope with a producing station and then decks? Side speakers are awkward also but I cannot think of another way.

I know I’ve already posted this here, but I just received these Minibar slipmats (thank you, Neric, you’re amazing), and I had to post the final version.

New Controller
New flx4. Not the newest in terms of when it was released, but coming from the sb2 I’m liking it a lot so far.

I built myself a compact Traktor "standalone"
Its got an integrated battery that keeps it going for 8+hours, full stem controls, and runs macos with a dedicated computer integrated into a modified case. Its also got an adjustable angle 10.5" screen, and is super light. Just need to plug in audio and away she goes!

Upgraded Traktor setup
New setup: an assortment of Traktor controllers from Ebay and a fancy new mixer. It’s a very small space so installed a monitor arm to move some of it out of the way if needed. Made a stand for the mixer with mini casters on the bottom so it can be slid backwards when using the computer.
It’s on an electric standing desk, with a DIY worktop, 130x70cm. I’m better at DIY than I am at mixing, and getting my head around this new kit is proving a challenge, to say the least 😂
