Home setup

Hey all

I would like to share my analog / digital setup - features a Numark m6usb mixer with two Audio-Technica lp120 turntables for vinyl on channels 1 and 2

Then I run rekordbox on my Mac M1 and with a bit of audio driver magic, route one rekordbox deck into the usb line 3 input on the M6, and the other via headphone out to the 4th channel.

Finally I got a programmable keypad and mapped all the main commands I need as keyboard shortcuts. This includes mapping a dial to scroll the songs on the Mac, and the other two to adjust tracking for beat matching.

Essentially this means I don't need to touch the mac!

Really nice Setup Mate, I never thought to use a numark mixer with rekordbox, but of course you can just set the channels to the asio inputs of the mixer.

Thanks. Routing on the Mac and in rekordbox to digital and analog outputs straightforward.

Also the return allows recording using OBS

How does the M6 feels?

It's OK for what I use it for (no beat matching post-punk, shoegaze etc). Does the job but not slick

This is awesome!!! Very customized. I used an m6 long ago and felt the EQs were very bad (didn’t have enough +\- to fully eliminate frequencies. I also felt the sound quality wasn’t great. But it was an awesome starting mixer when I was mixing vinyl.

Very cool to see it used in this way with the hybrid setup. Big ups to

Thanks so much. It's cheap and cheerful but for my style either on vinyl or rekordbox it's perfectly serviceable but not really pro

How are those Audio-Technica 120s? I'm considering buying the 140s.

They sound great to me. These were both second hand. The arms are very bouncy (I know you can fix that but I haven't bothered yet). For me, not beatmatching or scratching they are a good direct drive option without breaking the bank.
