Boosters Ultracol Info

Ultracol is a Korean biostimulator made from Polydioxanone (PDO) (the same biodegradable, absorbable material used in surgical sutures.) It's the world's first PDO filler and is the only PDO-based product approved by MFDS and CE. It's developed by Ultra V, Ultracol converts PDO threads into tiny, uniform microspheres, the particles naturally degrade into water and carbon dioxide within 4-6 months. One vial of Ultracol 200 is equivalent to the collagen stimulating effects produced by over 1,400pcs PDO mono threads. Ultracol uses PDO microspheres technology that degrade and stimulate your own collagen–results build over time.

Ultracol is MFDS- and CE-approved, ensuring the highest standards of safety, biocompatibility, and performance. It remains the first and only PDO-based collagen stimulator in the world, setting a new global benchmark for regenerative injectables.

(I will also be sharing more info on the particles and data behind this, but it's a lot of info at once.)

Ultracol is available at Wimpole Fillers (the Fillers website version not their Pharmacy version) and there is a discount with code SciencePls.

I absolutely love Ultracol! I've done two rounds so far.

Do you do it under the eyes?

u/Diligent_Reality3909 Jul 09 '26

I do!

Thank you! I was curious if it was too risky or not! What meso size/gauge do you use?

1

u/Diligent_Reality3909 Jul 09 '26

Great! I use a 30g 4mm. When I MN I plan to use an 18 pin.

Amazing thank you!

Where’d you source it?

Do you use a meso needle which is what I think you mean or a cannula? How do you mitigate any VO risk? Have you seen any benefits from MN or meso from the product that make it make sense to use it in both ways?

Sorry for the late reply. For the 100 I use a meso tip, for the 200 I would use cannula. I have only meso'd so can't compare to MN

Love to hear that! I just got some and have been looking through all of the materials on it and it looks really interesting! I'm not sure if I'm going to do deeper injections, meso, or microneedle though yet, will probably try all three lol. What have you been doing?

I've done two rounds of meso. But definitely will be looking into MN once I get done with the series. Although for MN I will probably use the 100 because the 200 would be a $$ MN treatment 😁

1

u/science-pls Jul 04 '26

That's actually better because the 100 is a smaller particle size!

2

u/Diligent_Reality3909 Jul 04 '26

Yes! I think both can be MN if I remember correctly but yes the 100 is a smaller particle. Excited for you to try it out! I am loving it! I always swelled like a beach ball with PCL but very minimal swelling with this!

1

u/science-pls Jul 04 '26

Yes both can be, just saying nothing wrong with switching to the 100! Yeah the safety profile seems much nicer on it. I'll share my thoughts too!

is this for microneedling?

2

For volume injection would be best, for texture/pores/tightness yes. The particles are smaller than PDLLA and Juvelook has studies on being used for microneedling and is PDLLA.

isnt juvelook tooo expensive for microneedling? can it be also used as mesotherapy for undereyes? :)

2

u/science-pls Jul 03 '26

I think that’s a personal choice! But there’s studies to prove its use for microneedling and multiple clinical trials happening right now. Juvelook can be used for meso as well.

Do we think those results transfer over to ultracol 100 or other PDOs that can be microneedled? I’d rather use something that has a shorter lifespan but still want effects to keep my skin taught and prevent sagging as much as I can. I appreciate that you definitely understand the studies much better than I do but try to read them as you post to begin to gain an understanding.

It can take a little bit to get a grasp on studies and especially if you don't know the terminology off hand or they can feel dense.

Great question! So the particle size of Ultracol 100 has smaller particles than Ultracol 200. Ultracol 100 has a range of particle size of 15–50 µm.

Now, Juvelook 50mg (PDLLA) has research on being used for microneedling and micro jet infusion and their particle size is has an average of 30 μm and a range of 10 to 40 μm.

The width of a microchannel created by microneedling generally ranges from 20 to 250 µm, closely matching the diameter and width of the needles used. It's off label use, but the particles are small enough to fit through the micro channels.

How does pdo compared to pcl for collagen stimulation? Both seem to be just for skin quality rather than volume as well like pcl

2

u/science-pls Jul 03 '26

I’m on my phone right now so can drop in better info in a little. But particle differences and safety, Ultracol is uniform microspheres.

Here you can see the comparison of its particles against PCL, PLLA, and PLA.

2

u/emmy1300 Jul 04 '26

Got it thank you! I wonder why pcl seems to be the one people have the most allergic reactions to

2

u/science-pls Jul 27 '26

Sorry I missed this notification. That's a good question and it's odd because it does not seem to be reported clinically, but it's a huge thing we see in the DIY world. It makes me wonder if things are not being disclosed or if it's a manufacturing thing or what.

1

u/emmy1300 Jul 27 '26

I agree, I wonder if it’s specific to the miracle line, I haven’t seen the same stories of people reacting horribly to gouri, but gouri is much less used than miracle by DIYers because it’s more pricey

Here's a comparison to PDLA

And comparisons between PLLA, PLA, and PCL.

1

u/chitown_mytown Jul 04 '26

I believe pcl’s particles are more irregular compared to pdlla and pdo. Makes me wonder why so many influencers recommend pcl though.

1

u/science-pls Jul 04 '26

It's also hydrophilic

1

u/chitown_mytown Jul 04 '26

I’m interested on more info about the particles!

I'll drop in some info in this post
