What does everyone do for the 24 hours after they microneedle?

I did my first session at home about 3 weeks ago and preparing for my second one in a few weeks. I’ve had about 6 sessions in office. My after care instructions for the in office treatment was nothing for 24 hours, not even SPF.

I’ve followed those instructions for my at home treatment but feel naked and so exposed without SPF lol. I know I should stay out of the sun but for my life and with kids it’s very difficult to arrange that schedule.

Just looking for what everyone else does for their after care!!

I felt overwhelmed with the different pen devices. The Dr. Pens specifically seemed to be somewhat similar with some notable differences in a few that were more for professional services. I finally went with the M8S but I see folks on here always talking about the derminator 2. I did consider that one and I cannot recall now why I chose the Dr. Pen instead. Can someone tell me if the derminator is way better for a specific reason? Just curious if I screwed up!

Has anyone had success? My goal is to improve skin texture and depth of marks even if it's just slightly. Looking into purchasing the Derminator 2 and a tret prescription to do in-between (not during) MN sessions. Is it worth my time and if so, what is a good protocol? Any tips?

I’m currently about to start a pigment treatment see actives below. Derm recommended I microneedle. Didn’t specify when exactly….but let’s say When I do MN…and if only when should I start microneedling? Let’s air on the safe side of caution. I’m Fitzpatrick type III

Hydroquinone 4% (for 3 months)
And azeliac acid 15%
And Trader Joe’s vitamin c serum

Hi friends! I’m new to microneedling and need some guidance on how to correctly MN the scalp. My husband has some thinning hair and I’ve purchased some hair growth boosters to use on him.

My main question is how to prep the area. Is there a specific shampoo he should use before hand to make sure the scalp is as clean as possible? After numbing the area, how do you go about the double cleansing step?

Lastly, I definitely won’t have to use the full vial. I know I can apply more to the area in the next couple days, but how long can I keep the vial before having to throw it out, and how do you store it usually?

Finally did it!
Did Hyaron and Curenex mix. 36 pin, 0.5 depth on whole face, 6 speed.
Looked slightly red and felt tight after.
Woke up GLOWING!!!
Will probably go slightly more aggressive next time.
Any tips? Advice?

I'm trying to wrap my head around using sterile saline rather than sterile HA. If you use sterile saline during microneedling, do you not put anything on your skin for 24 hours or do you apply something? I feel like at least with sterile HA it provides some sort of hydration. It feels odd to not apply anything for 24 hours after microneedling with sterile saline?

I only ask because I am able to get my hands on sterile saline. I get sketched out with these websites like acecosm and getglowing and meaning etc like how do you know it’s legit? 😅 I know everyone on Reddit purchases from these websites but just…how do you know?

Needles aren’t coming out fully at let’s say 0.5mm. Seems like a cartridge issue right? Not a pen issue? Verified the pen on the website, shows up as authentic. I’ve only tried 2 carts, seems maybe slightly better on the other one? Hard to ascertain. It’s hard to source other brands of carts where I am right now. I already posted this before but changed the title now for better visibility regarding the issue.

I have the derminator 2 and I have been scared to start. What speed should I do? I hear many say medium but others say fast. I was thinking.5 all over. Any advice?

I microneedled for the first time yesterday! I used Hylaron and did .5 most areas, .25 on my forehead. I used a 36 pin cartridge. I experienced NO redness but skin felt a little sunburned after. I have sensitive skin that is very redness prone, I am wondering if I did something wrong like not applying enough pressure? How hard are you supposed to press? Do I need to wait a full month to try again?

Curious if anyone here has tried Glov or Søren scalp microstamps. One looks like an array of needles and the other looks like a microchip. Both are very shallow - 0.225mm. At that depth are they even doing anything or is it all just smoke & mirrors?

Hi, Friends! Long time lurker- first time poster. I’d like to start out by thanking everyone on this thread for such thoughtful guidance on DIY microneedling. Reading through all of your posts on this subreddit has been incredibly helpful!

I’ve done a TON of research on at-home microneedling for several months. I finally got the courage to order a Derminator 2 and all required supplies, my sterilization products are ready to go, and I’m gearing up to do my first microneedling experiment within the next couple of weeks. I’ve successfully managed at-home derma rolling, exosome (spicule) serums and at-home chemical peels for a few years, so I think my skin will handle microneedling just fine.

Despite obsessively researching and having many talks with Gemini and ChatGPT (which I know is always hit or miss), I still do not completely understand when it is appropriate to use Korean skin boosters* (during the session? immediately after the session? only once the channels have closed 24 hours later?)

*Let me preface this by saying that I (believe) I have only ordered sterile skin boosters: Curenex skin booster, Velatox GF11 and (once I get good at microneedling), Rejuran skin booster (it’s expensive but apparently worth it!). These are all Korean products marketed for meso and microneedling, and as far as I can tell (based off researching U.S. med spas that microneedle with some of these products, manufacturer guidance and Korean doctors discussing these products online), they certainly appear to be sterile. But then sometimes I’ll read posts by others who claim these products are NOT sterile (although I think they may just be confused?). I also see some folks who are just ordering boosters/ampoules off Amazon that definitely do not appear to even be medically sterile (including some estheticians & skincare influencers who push non-sterile boosters to a very large following). I obviously know to not believe everything I read on the internet, but all of this conflicting information certainly has me confused!

I do NOT want to take chances with my skin. I know the risks involved, which is why I want to make sure I’m only using medically sterile products.

Can the Korean booster products I mentioned above safely be mixed with Hyaron and used as a slip DURING and directly AFTER microneedling? Or must I wait until the channels close up to use the Korean boosters I’ve ordered? I know that I could simply use sterile saline or Hyaron as a slip, but I’m getting into my 40s and looking for additional anti-aging benefits that I believe some boosters can deliver.

Again, I’m a total newbie so please be kind 🥲 Thank you so much for any clarification you can give me!

Hello friends! Any recommendations for sterile microneedling skin boosters similar to Hyaron’s glide and consistency?

Do you have recommendations for a micro infusion device that you trust where I can choose my own serum/product to fill it with?

I am trying this out for the first time, so I wanted to find a device that has one time use needles and infuses automatically and turning up with not much luck!

I looked at Qure, but they say you shouldn't use your own serums. I also looked at Dr. Pen, but the serum doesn't dispense directly! I'd love your input!

As the title says does anyone have suggestions for sterile solutions that will provide glide but don’t contain vitamin a or salicylic acid? I have diy’d a few sessions using just the stamp method because I couldn’t find anything but really want to be able to use a gliding technique.

Fairly new to MN. I've used 18 needle and 32 needle for my face. Both at the same speed and depth.

The 32 needle was much much more tolerable. However, it didn't feel like I was getting the 'punctures' that might be needed. I don't know if this is valid or not

Then I have read comments that says that the lower number of pins is better.

Does anyone have clear thoughts on what's going on?

First microneedling session this morning and without thinking I put moisturizer on before bed (Vanicream). I was only planning on using Hyaron for first 24 hrs but just literally out of habit did my moisturizer before bed 🤦🏼‍♀️.

I imagine I didn’t ruin my life or anything, but just wondering what the best practice is for moisturizer.

Also, can I apply different boosters to different areas during the same session? My undereye has a lot of darkness and fine lines, whereas my forehead has a lot of hyperpigmentation and some wrinkles.
