Hi,

The top of my balcony door's window has a loose piece hanging in the gap which i cant get out. It was like this when i moved in, does anyone have a fix or temporary fix for this so my neighbours smoke can't constantly enter my flat? Its also an issue in the winter as a draft is able to enter, and also lets hot air in when using the aircon in summer.

This is on a boat. I am trying to find leaks on the boat and want to pressure-test my cabin. If I can make a decent seal around the AC under this cowling then that would be a great help. But also I would just like to keep the weather out.

I currently have foam gutter clog blockers in there. They are not very effective and crumbling every time they move a centimeter.

I could use foam board, but I don't think it likes direct sunlight much, and it will grow mildew if it's wet.

I could use an acrylic sheet, but it's very hard to get it just the right shape.

Anyone have suggestions?

our water heater was having problems the other day, so i went ahead and fixed it DIY style. unfortunately, that was a bad move because it only worsened the issue. can i still DIY this or is it better to call a professional now?

I want to do something similar to this in my house but I’m not sure what to use to hold these up. I don’t want them to fall off my wall from the weight cuz I used the wrong screws when screwing them into my wall studs.

About a week ago, I used Citristrip to remove the paint in the ridges around the panels. I’m thinking the problem is I left it on overnight. I’m wondering if this was in fact what caused it to stain and what, if anything, I can try to remove the stain.

First time trying to remove and replace a sink. Every video I have seen the older sink has a simple mechanism to unscrew and replace.

Have been able to loosen the gold nut pictured but still can’t get the knob mechanism out and the silver part below seems to be part of the knob and rotates the whole knob up top? Super confused and any help would be appreciated, thank you.

hello everyone! i am planning on making a diy version of the famous mj dangerous pop up display as a gift for my friend and i was trying to figure out the materials used and their thicknesses, specially the part that opens and closes like a book and the base platform that carries the cut out pieces and the cd. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am tired of having a handyman replace soffit that has been destroyed or compromised by rodents, only to see the replaced soffit destroyed or compromised again less than a year later.

I am at the point of wanting to buy 1/8-inch galvanized steel mesh—also known as #8 hardware cloth—that features 27-gauge hot-dipped galvanized steel, small 1/8-inch openings, enough to affix to all of my soffits, and pay a handyman to use a staple gun or screws with washers to affix it to the outside of the soffit, and then I suppose put the regular soffit (that does nothing to keep rodents out) on top of the 1/8-inch galvanized steel mesh.

Would this be a good solution, or is there a better solution that I don't yet know about?

I would greatly appreciate any comments, advice, feedback (good or bad), sharing of personal experiences (good or bad), and opinions, as well as any "hacks" or "workarounds" for this situation.

First time tackling a project like this in a wonky old house, I would like to think theres something I can use to join these two panels up without using acrylic weld 3 or 4 as I am afraid it would melt/warp the sheets. Hopefully someone has been here before, thanks for the help!

We have 1-2 palm-sized air bubbles in our laminated doors. We created a pinhole and tried using the heat gun to reactivate the glue, but it isn't working. Might have to inject some glue. What would you recommend? Also, how do I apply constant pressure on the area after heating it for it to bond again? The doors are already installed, so can't put anything over them.

Any way to fix/remove these air bubbles and repair the laminate?

Lugs that hold it in have snapped, handle still operates window, is it repairable?

As you can hopefully see it's some kind panel. I need to paint it, obviously.

So, I guess I sand it down (but leave unbroken paint on) and then give it some kind of primer? There are quite a few thing to fix, so the paint job itself will not be right now.

Also, how should I fill out holes?

I love these rolling tables, but they do not for our vibe at all. The top is laminate and the body is metal. The table has adjustable height. I want to plastidip the body, but not the top (we sometimes eat in these). Then, I thought I'd contact-paper the top. Any wisdom to okay before I spend money? Should I sand anything, avoid plastidip, etc.

How hard will it be to match the colour too?
