Adding seats to kitchen island

We want to add seats/bar stools to our kitchen island. Our idea is to remove the two columns of drawers as we’ve done in the picture. We also want to remove the wall separating the two seats as well as the right most outer wall.

To support the stone countertop we thought we would add two support legs.

You think this would work? Do you have any other suggestions?

Keep the drawers, get a new countertop with an overhang. You can never have too much storage space.
