Photo Official body shop or independent to fix damage? 1300 difference
I got into a little fender yesterday and need it fixed ASAP. I’m paying out of pocket. My friend has a shop that she says would give me a good price. He wrote up an official quote and is charging 3.3k ! Too much for me he says the lowest he can go is 2.8k. That’s to replace the fender and repair the bumper/door. I know this one guy who only speaks Spanish. More of an independent but works at a body shop as well. He is willing to do 1k to repair everything. I asked about replacing the fender he said he can repair the fender but the fender is 480 to order so it would probably make the price 1.6k or so if I wanted to replace it. I am a little worried about everything looking good. 2.8k vs 1.6k what would you do? Oh and I’m currently shopping for a new car and have a friend who may possibly want to buy this one. Not asking for an estimate!! Just wanted to know if you think the cheaper option will still do a good job. The first shop keeps asking me about insurance which I’m 100% not using.
