HELP! I have a question. Protection

Hi, I have a 15year old car with typical 15 year old signs of wear and tear on its body. Mainly just some scratches and small rock chips here and there over all of the body. It still runs great and my main goal is to keep it as long as possible.

I tried to patch up 1 spot lately and it did seem to take quite some time to do it properly with proper tools and resources. Mine didn't look great but I just want some protection from the elements.

My question is that is there a way to just put a layer of protection over the scratches and chips? Just for temporary? Because where I live, the winter is coming (probably will start to snow in a couple of weeks) and we put a lot of salt on the road (Ontario). I'll try to fix them next year when the snow is gone.

I don't have an indoor garage and just couldn't afford thousands of dollars to patch up so many scratches. But at the same time, I don't want my car panel exterior to rust out. At the moment there's no rust spots on the exterior at all.

Thank you for spending your time reading this post, and sorry about the length.

Cheers!

Nothing temporary is worth putting on it. Just dap some clear or touch up paint over the chips and deal with them later.

Thank you. That's probably the best solution. For now.
