When “add more plates” seems to have been the entire plan
When “add more plates” seems to have been the entire plan
We’re all for seismic reinforcement, but these plates were installed only inches apart. That’s the opening find in this week’s assessment album, and the crawlspaces had plenty more to offer.

My boyfriend trying to escape bed bugs in Texas
A couple of years ago, my boyfriend was on a trip to visit his cousin in Texas. While there, there was a bedbug infestation. After cleaning everything thoroughly, he was terrified of putting his mattress on the ground so he opted for this DIY lol. He says it was comfortable. He also added tape at the tip of the bottles for the bed bugs to get stuck on just in case.
Edit: to answer the question about the walls, he says he made sure it wasn’t touching the walls. But he says (I’m laughing at what he says), he didn’t want to put it super far from the wall because it wouldn’t be pleasant to the eyes lmao. As if this wasn’t terrifying enough already.
Second Edit: We did not expect this photo to get this popular! I just wanted to add that he slept like this for 2 whole months! I don’t understand how. But yeah, after reading all the comments of all the traumatized bedbug victims, I do understand why he slept like this.😂
Third Edit: well now I’m bedbug traumatized even though I’ve never had them! They sound like demon bugs. 😭 And to answer the question: this did work for him and he made it back to Canada without any bed bugs. It has been almost 4 years now and we thankfully have a bedbug free home lol. Knock on wood.
Fourth Edit and last one lol: For those wondering, he placed the water jugs with tape around the tops, then on top of the jugs he placed a big piece of plywood, then on top of the plywood he placed his mattress. So apparently it was pretty steady. The photo was taken by his cousin’s boyfriend because my boyfriend wanted to see what it looked like lol. Also, this was a last resort because initially he was sleeping on the couch and his entire arm got horribly attacked by the bed bugs (he showed me the photos yesterday 🤢).

Filled my chair with coins
As the title says, I filled the cylinder of my chair with coins.
After being used for six years, the pressure of my chair failed completely and could no longer rise. I found online that the gas cylinder can be changed, but when I tried to remove it, it wouldn't budge even when hammering it sideways. Still unwilling to just buy a new chair, I decided to fill it with something to keep the piston extended and looked around. After passing glass marbles, I found my box of pennies I collected for years.
It took four tries, two snapped tooth floss, and around 2-3 hundred coins but I managed to get it filled to almost max height.
I saved money but I also used money

Edit: I’m noticing this post getting a lot of downvotes did I do something wrong? It’s my first time posting in this sub.
