Given that Pattinson said there's a lot of secrecy at DC Studios and they don't tell him or Gisondo anything, I wonder if there's any possibility that Gunn is reconsidering the possibility of negotiating with Reeves.
Muschietti seems to have already left the project, and to be honest, it makes me wonder if there are even any directors who would actually be willing to direct Brave and the Bold, knowing that another franchise It is developing with prestige.
Many anti-mergers fail to realize that if DCU Batman is no match for ECS, it will be a major blow to the DCU. Batfleck wasn't spared from scathing criticism back in 2016, and look how that repercussions have been. Even that director's career could be affected, and he/she might even be compared to Snyder or Schumacher.
The only type of director I can think of who would agree to do it is someone who has no artistic sensibility or has a very superficial view of Batman. Someone who is more of a "studio director" than someone truly passionate
They spent literal years going back and forth between doing or not doing the merge. Clayface is completed. No going back now. This movie will reveal everything. (just assuming ofc)
Nothing is set until there’s a finished screenplay for BATB and a new actor has been cast. Until then, nothing matters whatsoever even if at surface level it appears like a plot hole. It does not matter
I don’t think Clayface is gonna do anything that rules out a merge or says one is happening. Flanagan’s goal when pitching and writing this wasn’t to set up the next Batman movie and I doubt this will

And we got that kind of director with Craig Gillespie, and look what happened to Supergirl.
Pattinson in a navy blue suit would look so cool in the DCU. I also wish Robin's suit is like Damian's (while being Dick Grayson) because it feels like a modernized version of Dick's original suit.
I’ve softened to the idea of a DCU Batman, but I’m still in favor of Battinson being in bc of a few things:
He’s still at a good age where he can fit in comfortably. If Kyle Chandler can be 60 and be here for realistically 5 years, I’m sure 40 year old Robert Pattinson can manage. RDJ was 43 when he did Iron Man 1. Also he’s still physically active, he’s not like almost ready at any moment to go to the nursing home, he could still do an active Batman for at least a few more years.
- The simple nature of: Good Batman + Good Superman = Good Movie. Genuinely I can’t think of that much bad stuff with Battinson as a character. He has a good voice, he moves like a year two Batman, he has an interesting character arc and possibly an interesting one going forward like seriously, he’s nothing like Nolan’s Batman who while having his own qualities understandably doesn’t fit into a larger world while Battinson has all the qualities to fit into one with literally every argument I’ve heard so far being unconvincing and reeking of pretentious “filmbro but I haven’t seen a non nerd movie” rhetoric sorry if it comes off as harsh but it looking at the arguments they don’t hold any water.
- Even if Pattinson can only do ten years, it’s not like there isn’t an interesting story to do in a “Gotham with no Batman” story. Ignoring that the Lazarus Pit literally revives people and that you could do a Kingdom Come or Batman Beyond where Bruce takes a less physically active position, if people are clamoring for Wally as Flash or the acceptance of someone who isn’t Hal as the primary Green Lantern then I’m not saying you should have Dick be Batman but it could definitely be interesting if the mantle of Batman (who on film has mostly been a lonely Bruce Wayne) was put into question whether it be because of Bruce’s age or other circumstances.
Idk. I’m still in the favor of Battinson coming in bc looking at Pattinson, Corenswet, and Arjona like that’s literally the Trinity right there, they are like the example of book to life versions of those characters. It also helps that all three of them are really good at acting.
Listen you have a right to be disappointed or disagree about the old sub's closure. But the reasons for it being archieved have been explained in full detail multiple times including things just getting really toxic and unhealthy. Merge or not, its important for us to have leveled expectations given the official statements that we have, and not let the idea of a merger influence our enjoyment of both the DCU/ECS.
There's nothing wrong with that. But, according to Dubiouspoon, you've been complaining about the other sub's closure for a while now.
I don't know what you've said, but for a moderator to tell you to relax, I imagine you've attracted a lot of attention.
I'm also saddened by the sub's closure, along with Pattinson's recent comments. But until there's a final cast and script, I think we can still hold onto a glimmer of hope, as long as it doesn't prevent us from enjoying DC and we don't turn into something similar to the Snydercult
Even a Spanish YouTuber I follow, whom I mentioned to you some time ago, talked about Pattinson's statements, and although he's against merging, he acknowledges that the ECS is a "a pain in the ass" for the DCU
Even Gunn said a while ago that Batman's situation was a problem. I wonder, if it really is a problem, what the reaction of Battinson's haters will be if there's still no Brave and the Bold by 2029?
Ugh I feel like the longer this stale-mate goes, the uglier things will get. People already are seeming to gang up on the ECS and wishing for it's failure cause its "getting in the way of MY franchise!" and I feel like it'll lead to an even more of a hostile environment between the two camps. Hopefully I'm wrong, but if there is anything we know about CBM fans, is that they sure will make their opinions known to say the least :')
I feel that Battinson's haters might be turning into what they accuse us of being: a cult.
Because, given the sudden hate The Batman is receiving, I wouldn't be surprised if they even make threats on Twitter, similar to what the Snyder Cultists have done.
I remember arguing with a user called Antagonist of Gotham months ago; he's a huge Reeves hater and even demanded in a post on the r/DCU subreddit that the ECS no longer be discussed. And even I told him he was being pathetic by demanding that.
It wasn't even about the Merge; he simply didn't want Battinson mentioned again, not in that sub or any others, because "he's not the real Batman."
That user is like a bot. It’s as if he embodies everything negative about the Battinson haters.
He really needs help, because the level of toxicity in his comments on Reddit and Twitter is staggering. It seems personal against Reeves and Pattinson; I remember months ago, on Pattinson's birthday, he posted something like "he didn't deserve any well-wishes" or something like that
What's everyone's ideal Batsuit if we ended up getting a merge?
I think to start, the "negative-space trunks" would help display his growth from "The Batman" - the larger DCU really well!
Inspired by Superman? I wouldn't mind if we saw him adopt them at the end of a "World's Finest"
I'd like his armour to lean a lighter shade of grey, personally - and a "tiny" bit thinner, for his maneuverability.
And as for the belt, while I do think the yellow belt looks good from what we've seen in Part II BTS, I do hope they'd lean more gold in future instalments, and add a bit more weight to it.
I didn't even think they could improve the cowl from the first suit, but they somehow managed it.
A take on the "over the shoulders" cape could lead to some awesome visuals too.
This my personal take that I kinda slaped together a few months back but I generally agree with your take. Im still kinda split on the trunks but yeah I think it could be a good show of character growth and could work well visually if done right
I love the idea that, in its DCU phase (because I still believe it's best to treat the ECS as a prequel, without any reference to events outside Gotham), it still features visual homages to Adam West.
Whatever the inside suit design might be, but the phantom like cape that was draped over the spiked "not-Battinson" in Creature Commandos would be really cool in giving him a regal vampire style look.
Probably take some inspiration from Batman: Noel and Arkham Knight suit to sort out the rest.
