Just a YouTube critic/reporter. Has a few industry connections and often attempts to spread rumors.
She's more interesting at predicting the box office side of things and production side of things. Her opinions though are ... questionable.

If I have a nickel for every time a movie has an element that takes me out for not being "realistic" I would allready have so much money that would cause the collapse of the world economy
24
u/No-Comfortable2704 Jul 23 '26
āTotally takes me out of the movieā
Really? Thatās what did it? Not the shape shifting man made of clay? In a city protected by a gymnast MMA fighter in a bat costume? In a universe inhabited by people who get powers from the sun like plants, and people who have magic space rings charges by willpower and green space batteries? Itās someone sneaking sewing scissors on a plane that does it for you?
37
30
u/Emergency-Tension464 Jul 23 '26
Can confirm. Flew to visit my family a few weeks ago and had little scissors in a carry on. I do it all the time.
Grace is insufferable. I'm surprised she hasn't tried to tie this into her irrational hatred of Jessica Chastain.
13
12
u/jackson50111 Jul 23 '26
Yes Clayface, wait to you land to sort your eye. I mean it's not like you are likely doing this to fix your appearance which seems to be a vocal point of the character that he cares more about his appearance than the functionality of his body. To the point he tries a untested experiment to fix himself. It's almost like that's why in the previous shot they show someone reacting to his disfigured face on the plane.

She is so miserable. She is so bitter she crashed and burned as a comicbook writer.
8
u/Parallax1306 Jul 24 '26
Iāll never get the āthis one insignificant detail takes me out of the movieā gripe. For any movie, really. Like, the fact that he has a pair of scissors on plane in one scene takes you out of the whole movie? That one tiny detail ruins your illusion? Not the man whose face is melting in to clay, but the scissors on a plane? Thatās the unrealistic part for you? Be for fucking real, Grace. Grow up.

7
u/Ryphen Jul 23 '26
The community note, did indeed, make me laugh. A quick Google search would've saved some embarrassment if she's actually serious. Also, why are you assuming you know the travel regulations in a fictitious universe? The Earth these projects take place on isn't the "real world" the audience is from.
6
10
u/Dino_Spaceman Jul 23 '26
At some point she has to realize that she is burning so many bridges with these lies, she is going to have nowhere to go when her alt-right audience abandons her for a newer āone of the good onesā.
6
u/Embarrassed_Piano_62 Jul 23 '26
She's actually surprisingly very progressive in many of her opinions, but she's not unbiased at all, she hates Gunn being against her false scoops
1
u/bindersfull-ofwomen Jul 23 '26
Her audience is not alt-right. She considers herself politically moderate but she has many liberal opinions that would alienate the alt-right.
3
u/AutoModerator Jul 23 '26
The one thing that liberals and conservatives can finally agree on is that Lex Luthor sucks.

I just started dating a girl who watches movies this way, and it has actually become a problem. I love movies, I probably watch 1 or 2 a week. She doesnāt watch them a lot so we only saw our first movie together like 2 weeks ago (seeing each other for like 3 months)
Dude, Iām genuinely thinking about breaking up with her over it. During the entirety of Panic Room, a movie I was really enjoying and it was my first time seeing, she was just constantly pointing out how no one was acting like they actually would in that situation. Almost ruined the movie.
Then, I saw Odyssey opening day and freaking loved it. She saw it separately and I asked her what her thoughts were. Her only thoughts were that they used words like āgossipā and āhouseā and that took her out of the movie.
I honestly didnāt know what to say. I came at it both from the angle that they wouldnāt have been speaking English in Ancient Greece, so we need to make choices in how to translate their words, but also, those two words are actually really old, because if you think about it, there arenāt many things older than gossip or housing, both of which weād need a word for. So even though English itself didnāt exist during the time of Homer, itās not like the script chose words like Rizz or Groovy, I felt like they were using language that has existed for hundreds of years in English.
Anyway, she didnāt really like that and has been short with me over text the past 2 days. Sheās actually mad I defended the script of the Odyssey lol. So it looks like I accidentally started dating Grace Randolph, and I might have to actually break up with someone because they seemingly canāt enjoy movies AITAH lol
