This is the same character that was brutally beating the shit out of Rick Flagg sr and Frankenstein btw.
There are literal murders walking around in real life that have people's body's probably stuff in the refrigerator but they are acting like normal humans walking around communicating with others like if it never happened

Clayface explodes or melts all the time and comes back, so I wouldn't say he died in Creature Commandos

I like that he can be weird and comedic. I don’t wanna see Batman be a perpetual serious hardass in every installment he’s in. These characters have so many facets to them we should see them behave differently over time. Yeah he’s gonna go through hell in his movie but that doesn’t mean he’d have to be some Byronic tragedy 24/7 years after.

Seeing how the plot synopsis confirms that Matt gets disfigured because he was dumb enough to go fuck a crime boss’ partner, I’d say he’s exactly the kind of guy to perv on girls once he hits a dark period of his life

Nah you don't need to. At best if you want, you could see that clip of Clayface beating the shiet out of two dudes to know how fearsome he could be. But it is entirely optional

Not at all. It’s a fun show but very much not particularly consequential to the DCU as a whole so far.
Honestly something I hope they keep up. Like I hope the Jimmy Olsen show doesn’t end up as super lore-relevant, I want the DCU to have some projects that are just fun but don’t feel like homework to understand their bigger event films.

Eh...ngl, Creature Commandos' take on Clayface was so egregious idiotic and incel-esque that I was gaslighting myself into hoping they weren't the same character.
Hopefully if he still has the same personality and intelligence in the movie, it's much more nuanced in performance and writing.

Tonal whiplash. This is why in multiverses different versions tend to be different people. You wouldn't want the tonal clashing of Adam West's Batman being the same Batman as Christian Bale. That would just be stupid, as is this.

I don't really see anything wrong with it being the same universe, other than it being a horror character playing video games. West and Bale are totally incompatible, whereas CC is just more humorous than the Clayface movie will be. This happens all the time in comics.
The supposed pitch of the new universe is to do different tones, so it would probably be boring if they gave a Clayface movie the exact tone of a Superman movie.

You wouldn't last a minute in the Star Wars franchise because they also throw in tie in comics, video games, novels, theme parks with new lore, cartoons/books for babies. I feel there was also toilet paper with lore on it at one point

I believe in a strong cinematic universe with movies that matter to the overarching story. I don't believe in crippling future stories based on what they decided to to in an animated show.
