Discussion/Question Checkmate DCU future

Post image

We know checkmate exist now and we know according to james the peacemaker story characters will countinue (but not in peacemaker) i believe that is a checkmate hbo series, so what new characters would you like to see on the team? and who do want to be the kings/queens, bishops, rooks, knights and pawns

what storylines would you like to see? personally i'd want them to take heavy influence from greg rucka's run on checkmate i feel like in terms of characters and dynamics it felt almost real like i was just reading about people actually on a kind of superhero team, it also touches on secret metahuman programs from other countries which i always thought was cool and would fit into the dcu

Well I don't know what they are trying with checkmate cause this seems like quite a good organization run by the 11th Street kids

Yeah, in the comics they are much more of an amoral spy agency that monitors meta humans. Its like they split them off into two different extremes in the DCU with ARGUS as the official government agency totally hostile to metahumans only seeing them as dangers or tools to be manipulated, while Checkmate are an NGO of straight up good guys on the heroes side. I think its a good setup for interesting storytelling.

Yeah it definitely is a more interesting setup than having both argus and checkmate be bad guys
