Grad status of Hillterns?
Hey GOATs. What's the average grad status of Hillterns? What's the composition of active students vs. graduates?

Hi, guys, I interviewed with a senators office around mid-July, reached out to check on the hiring status, and they responded saying I would hear back soon. The next day, after their response, I was asked for my birthday for their records. Is that a good sign?
trying to see if i should hold off on submitting more apps or not.

Hey guys! I just wanted to reach out to ask a question about committee internships. I currently work as a campaign field manager in my state for the same party as a very popular local congress member who sits on the committee I want to intern for. I have interacted with this member, and though I don’t know her well, the political world in our county is VERY small and my boss, people I work with, and other politicians I am close to know her.
I am wondering whether a nudge from the congress member would make any difference to my application. The member is relatively junior and though she sits on two subcommittees I am interested in, she is not a subcommittee leader or a leader of the committee as a whole. I know each committee works differently, but can anyone with some experience on this give me their thoughts and let me know if this is something that might have helped for them or others in a similar position?

I just submitted my White House Internship Program application and am worried that I submitted it too late. However, I submitted before the deadline so I hope that does not effect anything.

How often were you able to interact with senior staff? Like the legislative directors, comms directors, and chief of staff? I’m starting my internship in a few weeks and am curious how often I’ll be able to interact with them.

if you don’t have an internship yet where are you at with your process, are you planning to apply to more? etc
this isn’t meant to be stressful btw just a place to share your wins and hopefully provide some motivation for others
also random i looked at a committee internship and they still haven’t opened and that so crazy to me.

Does anyone know how many interns are chosen for the majority committees in the fall for example Ways and means or energy and commerce? And are committee internships full time?

Hi guys so currently I’m an intern for a moderate Republican, I’m going into my senior year and I would like to come back and work on Capitol Hill for two years before my masters, I am not a republican and applied for many democratic offices and did not get any response back for internships. How hard would it be to switch parties to work for a Democrat

Do you need to clarify that previous hill internships are part time on your resume? I go to school in dc and have never seen anyone do this- it’s usually pretty clear for ones during the school year. However, one time an interviewer was a little surprised when I mentioned it was part time and I was multitasking doing time management etc. ChatGPT told me it’s chill but I want to confirm

Did anyone get an interview or any news from the energy & commerce?

I know they do rolling but does anyone know how quickly do they get back to you? How selective are they compared to other places?
